Education question marks..

Right now i have a rather small dilemna..Zeph has recently introduced an institute to me and suggested that i quit my poly to stop myself from learning un-necessary and un-related subjects and just go straight into specialization within this institute. Its called CG Protege.

I was just at a talk given by a representative who told me that i might want to consider what Zeph had told me but expressed views that my parents may not be going to accept this, which is current case..My mom usually gives very sane and very believable advice, and after hearing her out, i felt that whatever she said made sense, but...at the same time, I'm just..a little concerned...
I don't really want to rely too much on my parents to get my education, and i'm even believing that this may be the furthest i can go within this life in terms of full time education. I really want to advance further in life, but I also don't want to burden my parents down. They have their concerns which i don't really have much knowledge on, such as government subsidies and all..Furthermore, my mom always has a "better safe than sorry" personality, which i totally agree with.
So now..I'm really quite undecided, but i'll just continue working my best at the polytechnic first. Its in some way still too early to tell what i should do.

cos what i hear in the industry is that people get their degree or diplomas and then go out and work for a couple of years and then when they think they've had enough or think they can do better, they go for masters training. some of them continue working after that and some stop work and begin teaching, i know, one of my lecturers did that X3

I still say stop once you've reached the end of your first semester. Given the way things are now, you'll learn practically nothing of value and more time will be wasted in retraining you once you exit the Polytechnic.
In this field, as stated before, what is important is your attitude, aptitude and skill. Certifications and whatnot from places that have no sway in the industry at present as a whole holds no weight in you being recruited.
Remember again I was immediately drafted for an interview right after showing what I did and can do, without even having to pull out my cert of graduation from my school.
Plus, Bossman there briefed you himself, and he's practically the most important figurehead in the entire country right now when it comes to animation.
Specialize, you can't go wrong with that. Take it from -all- of us who made the mistake and spent years of time in a place unecessary. Do the right thing, save your parent's finances, and get into the workforce as soon as possible.
Dragging it on in the Polys will extend the time you're doing things largely irrelevant, spending more money on the school fees, terminating your Diploma grant for the right school, and spending more money for the right schooling and spending at least 2-3 more years before getting into the workforce, relying on your parents for finances throughout that period of time.
