Awesome news!

I do not know how many of you know about my condition, so here's a brief summary first.
In January of 2007 I was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid/Myelogenous Leukemia (CML). This is a cancer of the white blood cells that can take several years, yet is uniformly lethal in untreated patients. I was placed on Gleevec, 400mg dose once a day, to manage the cancer. This did not go well. My body was already dealing with apparent detox and a few other unfun things, so the additional problems provided by the side effects of this drug were very unwelcome. After a few months, I went off the pill for a while to try alternative medicine therapies. Either they were pointless or I was not faithful and extreme enough in them, but whatever the case, they did not halt the progression of the leukemia.
So in the summer of 2008, I negotiated with my oncologist (who I say was very gracious in dealing with me) to start with a half dose of Gleevec (100mg two times a day) and see how well I responded. I responded well with far fewer side effects. He increased it to three 100mg tablets a day and now, this day, we get a PCR genetic test back reading this:
Zero cancer cells detected.
If I knew more of the joy emotes and funny icons by heart, I'd string 'em all here.
I am so blessed, and so very thankful to all the people who have helped me through this trial and most importantly to God who enabled things to work out as awesomely as they have. The road ahead contains more fighting, but this is a significant victory in the war for my life. Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
