what got you into the gothic subculture?

around 2002 and 2003 i got really into 80's new wave and became obsessed with halloween. put 2 and 2 together.

Some bad experiences in life,but I always had a "morbid" personality! I too,love "New wave" and music that is more close to "reality". Some other genre of music seem more out of touch with reality or doesn't relate to me.
I love "Siouexie and the Banshee"! You also named some groups I haven't heard of,but need to check them out!
Also,being dressed in all black is cool! (Except for summer!) Chicks really wear "Goth" well.

I was born into a family who loved Halloween, my uncle always wore black and his room was decked out with skulls, masks and his walls and windows were painted black. Oh yes, and I was born on the glorious holiday of Halloween. Also, people never really talked to me and made fun of me, so I disociated myself from most people. I also laugh at the most inappropriate times, so that's my black humor. And, I feel comfortable in black.

Goths took me under their wing and high school when everyone else bullied me. Naturally, I developed a fondness for them for this reason.

plus, I sometimes really like things that are morbid, warped, dark...and goth is good for that.
