I went to my granddad's funeral today...
General
...at least I had the chance to say goodbye to him before he was taken to the hospital a few days ago.
It was kinda shocking because his whole body was shaking a lot in an agressive way (because of the fever) he had low blood pressure, an urinary tract infection (he was only wearing diapers) and many other things. He couldn't talk anymore, he just babbled... I sat by his side, touched him tenderly & told him: "You're freezing, don't you? relax grampa, don't be scared... don't worry because I'm going to be here with you... I love you so much grampa, thanks for all what you did in all these years...relax relax..come on give me your hand, I'll warm it...You'll be feeling better soon, I promise...we 'll see each other again someday, I love you old man, GoodBye.."
I could see fear in his eyes...I knew he was dying and that's why I stayed with him until the paramedics arrived...I feel calm, maybe a little sad but I feel so lucky because I had that last special moment with him
Goodbye grampa

I knew my mother's father. He smoked like a cold diesel all his life and died of a heart attack when I was around nine or ten. He served in the Pacific Theatre during WW2 aboard a mine-sweeper boat.
I am very glad you got that special moment with your own grandad.

supongo dejé que el corazón hablara en esos momentos
I'd have given anything to have seen him one last time before he left.
In the meantime. Happy healing and best of luck. My condolences.
words cannot express...

That's so damn sad. My condolences.
I'm sorry for your loss.
I`ve at least been at his funeral and even if he wasn`t the best person known in this world, he had many visitors.
I feel sorry for you, it must have been hard to lose him, I`m also afraid that my grandmother could die in the next years, since, letting my family aside, she`s the most dear person to me.
Actualmente uso unas pantuflas que me regaló en uno de mis cumpleaños, y guardo con cariño una corbata suya que me regaló hace un tiempo :)
*te abraza también*
