My faithful 2007 MacBook Pro has finally shown signs of being one of the computers affected by the bad batch of nVidia GeForce 8600M GT GPUs.
I was watching a friend on Livestream yesterday and all of my graphics checkerboarded and locked the system up. So today I'm taking it in to the Apple Store to have them test for the issue and get the logic board replaced on warranty.
The bad news is, they usually don't carry the logic board in store, so I will have to wait a week for them to get it in and repair my computer. So I will be without a decent computer for a week. Meaning no art from me as my replacement computer (a 2003 Dell Inpiron 8200) is incapable of running SAI or Photoshop (it runs #!CRUNCHBANG Linux).
Anyway, just a little update so you all don't think I've disappeared off the face of the earth.
UPDATE
Good News:
Took Leo to the Apple Store, they ran their diagnostic test for my GPU and found no faults in it.
Bad News:
It's more than likely caused by overheating, so I'm ordering some high quality thermal paste and going to replace what's on the CPU/GPU diodes currently and hope that alleviates any future problems.
