That sounds right. So long as the resolution follows the 16:9 ratio ( multiples of 16: multiples of 9) you can make any variation.

There's a few different aspect ratios in use - 4:3 (640x480, 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x960, 1600x1200), 5:4 (1280x1024), 16:9 (1280x720), 16:10 (1280x800, 1680x1050, 1920x1200). 5:4 and 16:9 are fairly rare, though, and there's the immensely weird 1360x768 knocking around.
