I need a new video card.
It looks like my X1900 XTX is getting underpowered due to me finally going to a widescreen format monitor a while ago. Does anybody have any experience with dual cards? I was thinking I could find another one for cheap and get decent performance out of it if I had two. On a related note, does anybody have an old x1900 xtx for sale or trade? I can't afford to get a new card so I was hoping to find another old one like the one I've got.
FA+

Did a quick lookie myself, good luck finding a X1900 that works for sale. Old enough, honestly, I wouldn't even pay shipping on one if I got the gpu for free.
If you're going to go through the trouble of SLI or XFIRE I recommend put just a bit of money and upgrade into at -least- the last 5 years. Just imo. Though I'm a bit of a hypocrit since I run 2x 7600 gs
hehe.
And Otava said it nicely. No -real- need for SLI unless you are hardcore gaming/video editing. 1 512 or 1 1gig will do the trick just nicely.
best of luck finding one on there that sound be cheep
I'm personally using ATi Radeon HD4870 which has 1GB RAm by itself (manufactured by Palit), and it works like a dream (not to mention it is basically a dul GPU in one package). However, I recomment getting one of the HD5000-cards if you have either Vista or Seven (7), since they support DX11 (the cards, I mean, not Vista).
Hopefully you'll find this info useful.
Start looking at ATI's 4000 series. Their 4830 is a good card for the price.

I think a new single card would be a better investment though, if you could afford it. How much are you willing to spend?
You are the author of CBSF, are you not? If you are available for commissions I could perhaps take one to help fund a video card. I have been interested in commissioning you but have not had any ideas about subject, and this would be a character from aforementioned quest. I can send you a PM later if you are interested (I do have some questions concerning method of payment first though).

Vid card I purchased recently as an upgrade, and am happy with it!
A lot of power for the low price.
Points worth noticing:
•Price - 60 bucks after rebate at Newegg
•Low Power - This card does not require additional power-plugs, less concern of needing to buy a powersupply as well (which two videocards would be a concern)
•Memory - DDR5 RAM, other vid-cards in this price range only offer DDR3

Take note of this card's placement (GT 240) Vs your current card (X1900 XTX), the GT240 placed noticibly higher.
