i drove from alabama to california when I moved there. took about 3 days. 2 of them were just to get through texas!

took I-10 all the way to california. we stopped on the side of the road and took a nap in the back of the moving truck. I got sick from smelling the oil derricks the whole way. it was cold as shit.

i drove 1000 miles in my car once ... and my advice, if you feel like stopping on the side of the road to take a nap... just do it ... as often as you feel like it ... and be safe

Good luck! You in the states? What state you moving to?

My furthest move was 400 kilometres - In relation to the size of Germany, I'd say that's about the same distance as 2000 miles in the USA.
The furthest I've ever driven in one day was 800 kilometres. I did this with barely having slept for 3 days before, being high on caffeine pills. Not recommendable.

My advice regarding long trips is to regularly schedule breaks, to not neglect eating, drinking and especially sleeping, and to keep your mind occupied (but not too occupied) - preferably with some sort of auditory input. Also: Plan with 1.5 times the time you expect to actually require, as backup and in order to not feel rushed.

NoDose is the best for long distance trips.. I did 3k miles in 3 days on caffeine and small naps.. You can do it ^^

I havent drove, but i've moved across countries. It can be a tiring journey no matter the distance.

I have literally had a bedroom overlooking both the pacific and the atlantic within the past 3 years.

I moved 1200 miles from Indiana to Texas. They're surprisingly similar places from a human standpoint, but the settings themselves are quite different.

I drove that far to move my mate out here to be with me. I flew out to him and we drove his car back a similar distance to your trip (MI to AZ). We drove for 30 hours trading off only making pit stops mostly just going the speed limit. I don't recommend doing that. If I had to do it again, I would definitely split it into two sessions with a good night's sleep in between even if it has to be spent in the car but preferably in a bed(of course!). Also we were just bringing what we could fit in his car down so we didn't have a truck or a trailer or anything. I am sure that might complicate matters, but probably not too much. Oh yeah, and we also chose a route that avoided major cities on the way. I hate traffic! So our route was a little unusual but probably faster overall because it was a little more direct and avoided major city centers which are a source of frustration to the cross country navigator. Hey at least the price of gas has gone down for mysterious reasons.
