Anthrocon 2010, What's Next, and A Little PC Advice Please?
Not that I got around to posting a journal stating I was going, but I have returned from Anthrocon 2010! Rode in a car with Slayer, Keeya, and Syberfox. Car was packed to the ceiling, including 4 fursuits and an incomplete 5th, and 3 of us carried a head in our laps. Got to the Westin around 9am on Wednesday... Never been to a con so early before. The hotel had been sold out the night before so there were a lot people there, but very few were involved in Anthrocon and we knew next to no one that was there at the time. Since my ride mates didn't already have a room available, they left their things in the car, and had no place to change into their suits. We mostly sat around the lobby at this time with nothing to do... We eventually wandered outside for a bit, 3 of us of even going to The Omni and buying frappuccinos from their Starbucks. Later we met my own roommate, Addy, and spent much of the time sitting in the lobby talking to him and other furs that started to materialize. By around 12 o'clock or 1 or so things were pretty fun as more furries were there and a few including Skroy were in suit. If I ever arrive on a Wednesday again though it will not be before noon or 3 or so.
I got the new experience of being a handler for my room/ride mates for much of the first few days of the con. It was a lot of fun and presented me with a lot of photo opportunities. I didn't spend as much time at the dances as I'd wanted but still enjoyed them quite a bit. Hung out with plenty of locals and semi-locals throughout the con, many I hadn't seen in several months. Met and chilled with soo many people I hadn't before.
Got back home yesterday at about 8:30pm, and I still feel kind of tired... Over the course of this "vacation" there were some problems, and a couple serious ones I don't feel so great about getting into here, though they were largely resolved. Despite all that I would not trade this con for anything, it was something special and I had such a great time.
I really did not spend much money at this con, despite what I went through to bring a lot xD This is fine though, as I got what I needed and can focus on paying for other things that have been on my mind. One thing though I was upset about missing out on (again) was volume 2 of Dreamkeepers, which sold out on the first day. Otherwise I bought one issue of Heat, and 1 new commission.
Now I feel bad; I typed up a much more detailed journal with a lot of names, but then looking at it I realized it's likely too long to hold many's interest, so I cut a lot out. Sorry for the lack of specific mentions, but I'm so happy I got to meet you guys! Thanks for allowing me such a wonderful Anthrocon! ^.=.^
Expect a link from me eventually, leading to the many photos I took. Not sure what if any I'll be uploading to FA yet, we'll see.
Wow, AC was my big plan for the summer... Next, I'd like to go to Condition: Zero Hour, which is only about 2.5 hours away from me and I've already won free registration for, but then it seems like more folks I know will be at IndyFurCon a week later, about 5 hours from me. Either way I'll need to work out a room and ride with others to make it happen. Beyond those the only con I'll pretty much guarantee I'll be at is Midwest Furfest.
Hey, pretty unrelated but I'm looking for a little PC advice... For the past month or so flash on my computer has been moving really slow. This includes swf files and the YouTube video menu, but not the videos themselves, which play without any problems. It hasn't been tooo important a problem but it is getting annoying, and I'm not sure how to fix it. What could the reason be and how can I fix it?
This is still a lengthy journal I'll admit. Thanks for reading this thing! ^.=.^

FA+

Nope, that didn't do it...
xD
-what windows do you have (XP, Vista, 7 etc)?
-now, follow these steps to acquire the system information.
go to the start menu > All programs > Accessories and click "command prompt"
once that is done, in command prompt type this msinfo32 and hit enter, you should see a new windows open called System Information. Click on one of the lines to highlight it and then go to the "edit" menu and select "select all". Once highlighted, go to back to the edit menu and select copy. Then paste the results here.
sorry for all the questions, I just need to know what kind of system I am dealing with, if that's okay with you.
