Pansexual != attracted to ADROGYNY ...?
So I saw
and I was gonna do a +watch
cuz if you didn't notice I watch the entire WORLD and um
Well I noticed the definition at the top, went huh
then double-checked wikipedia.org and 'sho nuff, it concurs.
Some yeeeeeears back when I first found 'pansexual' defined?
I saw it as attributed to people who are attracted to:
-Effeminate men
-Masculine women
-Generally ANDROGYNOUS/ WTFbraincannotcompute types
Dude a long time ago I swore the definition in wiki was the same too.
I guess for the sake of those I think are hot *snort*(?!) I could go along and agree I'm still "'Pan" with that definition, but honestly..... no. I'll be at my most possibly shallow/ vain/ honest here. It's a turn OFF if a guy's too much the mirror gender-definition of "manly" or a girl too eeuughhhehh "womanly".
In fact society's opinion of sex & gender is a turn off to me entirely
it's like, it makes my brain numb so much my fun parts stop working.
[EDIT]That's NOT to say like, I think a man acting like a man is a turn off, or I can't ever be turned on by it, or like a woman taking a mother role makes me upset or some shit! Dude, I don't care if something's making me wet most of the time! Yes my guy in a tuxedo and looking dashing is hot as hell to me, but imho, it'd be hotter if he could wear mascara and pretty himself entirely if he's going that far to look delicious (and only if/when he wants, and if society wouldn't make him feel bad about it geeeez the South <3)
And just, I don't want to pretend I'm NOT ever a judgemental asshole! :3 Everyone has their opportunities to judge people only by their appearance and not actual content, we have to, before we get to know 'em! And at *THAT* distance, well you know my first shallow filter now.[/EDIT]
...
From all the painfully countless times I've gotten into sex & gender definition/ society opinion arguments *specifically* with people studying the topic in a college course at the time, I srsly find the whole "truly seems equally combination of both" in my perspective, anyway, to be the thing that really me gets me goin' "wowyesplz<3"
So what the fuck is *THAT*??
And is there a niche in porns for *specifically*
androgynous /cuntboys/flatgirls/BISHIES even and ballsy-ass chicks??
I'LL MAKE SOME :D :D :D
Unless it's just for me
I don't want to be one of THOSE artists... like, their nickname is their fetish? *sob*
And lol for the future, sorry if I say yer hot and that offends you from now on!
..? X3

That when Onta announced the whole
Mu with an FtM / cuntboy/ contest resulting in Avery thing
so many people went just
D:< D:< D:< D:<
Full of anger and vengeance
...
Maybe I look at furry chan boards FAR too often though
anyway this is a touchy subject i will stop myself there. :1
/:T Onta never even said the character was going to be used in porn just assumed that way by most of the angry people. So, alotta barking and finger waving happened but all these offended people didn't enter the contest to show what a GOOD FTM character could be and so ... yeah.
OTHER THAN THAT omigaw I love androgyny. I have a demon/drow kind of guy I should draw up sometime. He's a "cuntboy" I guess you could say, but does identify as male. He's pretty badass.
crossdressing is a fetish. transgenderism is, to some extent, an affliction. it's so fucking rude and near-sighted to refer to one as the other.
"cuntboy" is a term a lot of people like to use for transsexuals, and it's pretty degrading. So that makes you a hypocrite. :)
I am an it. If you called Buck Angel an it, you would be a fucking douche.
But I consider myself an IT.
you are a cisgendered straight white male, and your fucking privelage is showing
And I don't give a crap about Buck Angel. That guy is not some awesome representative of transsexuals, you know. He calls himself "the man with the pussy," like he's the only one out there. Not to mention his flagrant use of the term can lead people to think that's acceptable, calling an ftm's genitals a pussy.
Funny, most of us tend to like him.
Again, your privelage is showing. You need to fuck off and stop talking to me like you have some RIGHT to tell me what I can and cannot say based on my gender. Why don't you go yell at some blacks for saying nigger and we'll see how that works out when you get curbstomped.
And don't give me that "most of us" bullshit. There's no way in the world you know even half of the population of transsexuals on the planet, so there's certainly no way you could know the majority and get their opinions on him. You have no idea how most feel about him, and you're projecting your own bias, and probably using someone's outspoken opinion that you found on a blog somewhere on the internet.
lmao Wow. Tell me again, because I'm unclear about this one little thing: how do you know anything about me, or enough to determine that I'm a "cisgendered straight white male?" I also fail to see how my telling you "that word is offensive" means that I'm showing any kind of privilege on my part. Oooh, evil cis hetero white man's trying to keep you down by pointing out the fact that you're being fucking insulting. Someone call the NTAC.
I have a friend who is transgendered and I know all about that side of things (obviously not as much as somebody who actually has the condition, but as much as a cis-person can relate) and I understand the body dysphoria thing. However, she would have hated to be identified as trans- at all... she merely wanted to be a girl. Her largest fear was that somebody would figure out that she was born in the wrong body.
Maybe somebody needs to come up with some sort of other word for the fetish bits because those folks sure do qualify as trans and genderqueer, they just are at a different side of the spectrum from my friend, where who they are is somewhere more in the middle of the gender road and less at either end.
I don't mean to defend Onta or have any dog in that particular fight, it just seems rather awkward - if something is both a fetish and a medical condition, how do you laud it without offending those that suffer? I wonder if amputee porn has this effect on those who have lost limbs...
The issue I have with fetishizing transsexuals in pornography is the same issue I have with any porn aimed at your typical male; it is unrealistic and often shows way too much ... mysogony, I suppose you could say. Buck Angel, I LOVE. He's awesome, he's empowering, and I think he is a downright amazing person- and he is a trans guy who acts in porn. But the thing about him, he does porn everyone can enjoy... I think it's hard for me to explain my stance on porn because I believe veiwing pornography is a healthy thing for a person or for a couple! Sexuality is important to MANY PEOPLE... but when half the porn you see is on the verge of VIOLENT towards women or the transfolk that might star in them, well... Then I take issue with it.
The key to this is respect. To us 'tranny' is an offensive and transphobic word. I can count many words that 'mainstream' transsexual porn uses that are considered hateful, offensive, transphobic. In fact, Buck Angel is the only person I can think of who does pornography which is not only "for everyone" (who would of course, enjoy it), but is also respectful.
For the record, I had the same fears as your friend when I was first discovering my gender 'issues' I suppose we could say. Maybe she will forever want to hide the fact that she was born with the wrong parts. If so, that's her choice and all the power to her! It's especially helpful if she finds she can pass easily (I certainly cannot... :C), and I wish her much luck in it. Over time, I myself grew to embrace my trans/genderqueer status.
Isn't it my choice as a free individual to choose where to place myself, or what kinds of things to view and get off to? And why shouldn't it be the choice of anybody else to do the same, trans- or otherwise? I am totally against the seedier aspects of coercion present in the sex industries, for sure, but why shouldn't someone be able to make whatever flavor of porn they like, so long as it's legal and everyone is actually consenting of their own free will?
I mean, you're free to take issue with the things that I and others enjoy, and I do think that there is certainly a nasty cycle where if all we see are folks like us acting in certain roles, others will expect us to behave in those roles, but the answer to this I think is more Buck Angel porn, not more censorship. More positive sexual role models to drown out the sea of mediocrity. Less blonde-haired bimbos with fake boobs regardless of what they have downstairs, for sure, I think we can agree on that one. :p
I like the lines between things. The lines between human and animal, between male and female. Androgyny and everything in between the gender poles. I don't want to hurt people like my friend though. I probably would never use "mtf" or anything like that as a result - it's a specific term for a specific type of transition - but English lacks words for this sort of in-between space in general. I guess overall I don't feel like trans-folks have exclusive rights over this in-between space between genders - I should be able to draw folks throughout the gender spectrum without getting on somebody's nerves, even if it's a trashy fetishist image, because I'm not meaning it to be about them.
I'm glad that you've come to embrace who you are, I'm sure you're a lot happier as a result of it. Denying who we are is one of the largest stressors a person can have, and I wonder how my friend will be a decade or more hence. She can pass easily, and has had bottom surgery, so in theory she won't have to tell anyone, ever. I wonder sometimes if I could keep something like that from somebody for my entire life, if I had a partner.
For the record, MTF is a term for an MTF person. Use it for MTF people. MTF folk are NOT inbetween, they have or are undergoing a transition to Female, from Male. That's the point- I am that line between, so FTM would not work for me. Maybe the MTF term does not work for your friend for whichever reasons she has. It's like how I prefer 'it' but most will find it offensive.
In another direction, some women are BDSM "lifestylers", where their dom/master tells them what to wear everyday, takes the money they earn from their job, and they generally live out the (imho hellish) life that women had of no control or consent for thousands of years before women's rights came along. They love it though, and wouldn't trade it for the world. I totally do not understand and my kneejerk is to find it a bit offensive - but it is their right to live in this way.
It takes all kinds - this is why I tend to err on the side of live and let live, I've gotten into heated debates with folks who have told me I am somehow damaged or evil for taking pleasure in consent play because it "reinforces negative stereotypes about women". I'm a woman. o.o I guess this is why I don't really buy negative stereotypes / normalizing "unrealistic sex" as an excuse for censorship, I like unrealistic sex.
If somebody's just going to be a jerk and spew bile about hating whatever gender, yeah, they can fuck off. I've seen enough catty gay men who belittle me for having a vagina in this fandom to know it's not just a problem with trans folks (although I bet such hatred is more mainstream-acceptable, and I wince whenever "lol she had a dick" is the punchline to a joke).
Art gets to be kind of funny, because you don't really know what's behind the pen a lot of the time. Is it some progressive kinky chick who is exploring a fetish, or some misogynistic asshole venting his hatred of women via art? Both pictures will have the same content...
But yes, the outline of the contest was written basically as "draw a ftm character, she will be blahblahblah she this she that...", and it was meant to be used as a fetishist image. Whether or not this was the intention initially, it certainly became the cause, and had Onta any respect for those of us who are trans she(? again I am unsure) would have cancelled the contest. Most of the people entering pissed me off just as much, because apparantly ftm =girly cisguy... ugh. The whole thing has/has me pissed off. :/ Namely for the lack of respect, flat out. Frankly, if the contest itself had been handled with respect to transguys I would have been all for it. It was not. D:
http://nixwilliams.blogspot.com/200.....ously-hot.html
http://bitchmagazine.org/post/rad-l.....ics-erika-moen
A couple of articles including the particular comic.
Frankly I used to look up to Erika Moen. She was a cool girl who embraced her gender and her sexuality and did so in a non offensive way to those of other walks of life. She spoke out about sexuality being OK (I myself have no interest in it, but frankly, it is a message that does need to be out there!!), she made it okay to be 'gross'...
But then it all devolved into pottyjokes and heteronormalization. Not to say I do not believe that people do not have the right to be what they wish, and that perhaps she was not a lesbian but simply was a bisexual who felt more comfort in a lesbian identity, I DON'T KNOW, I am not her- the fact is, she completely pushed a very powerful, proud lesbian image, and then turns around and decides that she is totally going to marry a man and that's A OK. No explanation, no nothing. It is her personal life, sure, but she kept that personal life quite public in her art and comics, and I feel that as a result, she owed her fans, especially young lesbians who looked up to her as a role model, an explanation of 'Okay so maybe I did not fully understand my sexuality" etc- Nobody's perfect, and hell, it would be understandable. But the way she went from "GUYS I'M A LESBIAN THIS IS SO AWESOME YOU SHOULD BE PROUD IF YOU'RE A LESBIAN" to "marrying boys is keen" without any kind of explanation of her own feelings.... well, Maybe I'm just a little bit hurt because the woman I looked up to as a role model turned out to be like this, but that is my take on it. :X
She showcases both stuff she likes and dislikes about herself on said comic
I don't really see Erika is being a hypocrite at the moment. She could be still non-heteronomitive while under a relationship with a man she liked, and I've met people who identify themselves not as straight but yet in different gendered relationships.
This is so trure, but the issue i have is mainly that she ACTS like suddenly she was saved by heterosexuality, or something. I really dont know how to put my feelings about it into words, though. It's a pretty personal issue for me as wel lso D:
She is still a lot into girls tho. She just happened to find a man she liked, despite being mostly into girls. Sexuality ain't binary, remember?
Oh, that's fine. I understand that completely. The problem is that she went from an outwardly non-heteronormative lifestyle, and as soon as she met a man, she seemed to portray her lifestyle as heteronormative. The issue with me is more HOW she adresses the issues, not that she adresses them at all. :)
Transsexuals are just people. -_- Their looks always vary greatly. I wish you wouldn't generalize them like that.
Comprehenshun, get you some.
and yeah there is NOOOOOO lack of girly males or androgynous people on this site hahaha :D
I'm obsessing about the "regardless" part
Like no, can I really say that I can't I'm not THAT nice
Get that beefy boy into some rainbow thigh-high socks and mascara!! D: D: D:
Plusssssss, my partner is FtM. So it's like I went from dating a girl to dating a guy without even dating someone else. Because I'm comfortable with who they are, not what's going on down south.
I see a sad lack of transguys and androgynous chicks on the site tho ( I guess cuz ppl think androgyn chickas are ugly or something or they need huge tatas.... :CCCC). In art, anyways.
like Hanna from Suikoden II... <3 <3 <3 <3
I never thought of the term 'manly woman' being negative before but I can certainly see why. learning something new every daaay~ :D
I mean dicks.
I grew up on Xena. I love me some strong ladies. :D
I don't mean to sound rude, mind you, I just do not know how to state something like this "politely", haha. Gender is a big part of all our identities, and it can fall a bit harder on the trans community. Just because one person may be okay with questions in regards to their transition/gender/etc. does not mean all of us are.
Also, I should clarify I was referring to characters/art, not to the artists themselves. A few years ago, you'd see people just flat out state they were male/female. These days, people are a lot more open about stating "I am transgendered", mainly due to a lot more acceptance from the online community, I feel.
I just like
Never wanted to be a dick and claim
"NOOOOO I'M COMPLETELY GENDERBLIND, fools!"
Cuz I'm not and that'd be wrong
And man do musclemen squik me ooooooout
neat
kickass even
I can quite agree
:9
so is like Pansexual
the "libertarian" of sexual preferences??
Seems like an unfortunate amount of people don't really want to 'believe' it though, like gender and sex are binary thus the 'cap' would be "bisexuality".
But they're not binary are they? I certainly don't think so anymore. I once did! but then I opened my mind up.
Also, please do draw some androgynous folks! I would highly, highly approve. U vU
...?
Wait... so... if you run into a man who looks and acts like a man, or a female who looks and acts female, it turns you OFF?
All the people I asked about what "pansexual" meant basically defined it as "Will fuck anything that has holes for the purpose/can be made to work for the purpose" aka willing to have sex with any of the many gender mutations that the furry fandom has come up with, and any new ones that happen to come along. Aka "I don't care what your gender is, your species is, etc. If you want to have sex, we will have sex, oh yes."
Wouldn't this INCLUDE manly men and womanly women? Or are you only interested in manly women and girlish men?
This post confused me as to what exactly you're getting at...
From reading erikamoen.com / darcomic.com etc since forever, and now having my roommate currently taking a course that studies gender issues -- I've had to gather a "sexual preference" is seriously only that which gets your rocks off typically, an overriding *preference* and thus a shallow judgmental thing anyway, and thus a lesbian can still fall in love with a man ( again: see erikamoen.com)
And then when I go through my favorite porn, it really is like, chicks I know most 'typical' men ('round these parts of Savannah Georgia at least hurrr!) would NOT find attractive because they're "scary" or men that a good amount of WOMEN wouldn't like because they look sissy??
All in all "sexual preferences" are words only society gives a shit about anyways.
If society didn't tell us to care about what other people do with their junk I doubt people would WANT to.
It just seemed a little.... off, so I didn't want to misuse the term in the future?
I'm not aware of a term for favoring gender-bending... and I wish I did, because it sounds like we've got very similar tastes. Girls can't be too masculine and guys can't be too girly, for me. Anyway, if there isn't a term out there for it we should work on coming up with one.
y'know in a noncreepy platonic ilysomuchiiji way <3 <3
To be perfectly frank, I find boyish-girls more of a turn-on/attractive thing that girly boys. I guess because in this fandom of sausages it's like the one thing I see SO MUCH it's like overkill because I used to like them a lot when I was younger.
And I would greatly approve of some flatchestboyishgirls from you. ohyesyesplz <3
I also think Roj miiiiight have been a little too obnoxious in a dress, 'mm? X3 Bah, j/k, but I know to me he prolly would be lol

No, I'm a flabby weakling.
D: DONT HURT ME.
YES
Also, yes, Onta needs to do that. It would be glorious.
I think she'd be ideal for you. :3
I just don't feel I could say that.
Maybe I'm too misanthropic or something. So I don't fit.
And so... if pansexual *isn't* so much about adrogyny, *is* there a term that is? :9
*off to quest the world for it*~
Also, that's not to imply that pansexuality is a complete lack of preference. Someone who is pansexual might prefer redheads over blondes, or surfer types over skinny types, or flat-chested over busty. The distinction is that pansexuals have the potential to be attracted to people of all genders or sexes.
Hah, and I'm not sure what that might be called. Maybe androgynophilia (although a quick Google search brings that up as an alternative label for bisexuality :\)? More of a fetish, I would imagine.
with some MAJOR brainboner respect for people who proudly defy gender roles
because yeah srsly
fuck em
this is my conclusion of what weirdness I am <3
Man geez, so many responses, thank you guys so much I didn't expect so much varied thoughts on it, damn <33333
:3
I have also concluded this word just confuses more people :C At least on a site like this? Ehwell.
And I'm sure anyone coming accross it for the first time is gonna think of either greek Satyrs or cooking ware when they hear it anyway har.
http://www.furaffinity.net/full/4097633/
sorry, the only words i caught from your journal was "porn" and "ballsy-ass chicks" i figured it was potentially relevant. if not /ignore |3
And dude whoa. Whoa.
BUT then AHGHH OUH GAHD pokemon glitter eyerape :B
And more shots of her ._. =want
Pokemonz just scared me ;;
I hated Pokemon up until 2009, December 2009 i got a copy of FireRed from my brother, i almost considered it a joke till i played it, and like, man, I've been a whore for those games ever since. I'm into the numbers now, doing training to raise specific stats *EPICNERD*
idkkk
>:3
....wonder how masculine I could draw Alice..? Hmmn.
It does crack me up when people refer to a character in one of my drawings as a "he" or a "she" because I don't get specific . . . man, have they been wrong a lot of the times. But like you said, I would hate to only become known as a 'fetish' artist, so I mostly keep it to myself.
Also, if you like guys with girly bits check out Buck Angel. Porn aside, he seems like he's a really cool and interesting person.
I'm not very feminine. I don't like sex (Even though its all I get requested to draw. 3:) and at the end of the day I'm not looking for a lover, I'm looking for a partner.
And if this just happens to be a transsexual hooker then oh well
But seriously, there is porn out there for EVERYTHING! You just gotta look for it.
I think the general 'terms' today vary on everyone's own personal affliction with it. (Like the ongoing transvestite vs. transsexual and transgender. three different meanings, but often confused for the other, etc)
Heh. Just basking in the sharing of these comments on folks' preferences. Sorry that your journal entry is now officially a pan-hook up forum. =^_^=
I was afraid it'd mostly be people yelling at me for preferring or refining it away from "all people" or potentially "everyone".
Being FtM transgender, I personally don't mind being addressed as a 'tranny' or as 'male'. As long as one weren't to address me as female, I am sure I would be fine given the respect or tone behind it isn't to be an ass. It's moreso "respect me, and I will respect you" in my books.
Sexuality is a complicated thing, I think a lot of people are raised to look down or judge a sexuality differently from another these days. It upsets me to know a few individuals close to me having such a strong disgust towards anyone who isn't "straight". To each their own, I suppose.
I'm still questioning being pansexual these days; I feel more strongly attracted to biomen, although I'm finding I could fall in love with a friend (who happens to be a biowomen). I suppose it's all on the personality I fall in love with, rather than the body.
Pansexuality, in my eyes, is simply having no general preference to the sex or physical body, but the personality and individual beneath it.
Quite an interesting topic you've brought up however, haha.
