Do you remember Primal Rage or Mortal Kombat? Classic 2D fighting games, nastily violent, hilarious special moves, gruesome fatalities? Name: - Ilrys Kadiatu
Species: - Reality Elemental Gryphon

Bodily Colours: - Cream-white feathers starting above his solar plexus in front and trailing around and down to just above his tail in back, tawny-gold fur below that, yellow-scaled forearms and hands, yellow beak, and eyes that glow like miniature suns
A brief backstory: - Ilrys Kadiatu is the Far Master, a being created directly from the alien energies that lay in the interstices between planes. He exists to protect the fabric of Reality, even though his strange powers seem to break it whenever he uses them. His foes in the tournament represent a dire threat to Reality itself, and therefore must be destroyed.
Fighting style: - Energistic Assault: Ilrys has a constantly-refilling Reality meter, which all his moves drain to a certain extent. If it ever drains completely he suffers backlash as he has exceeded the amount of Reality he can alter in a given timeframe, and he is immediately stunned and unable to move for up to five seconds.
Standard Move 1 (A Button)

Move Name: - Power Lash
Move Description: - Ilrys swipes at the enemy with talons of pure energy, draining 3% of his Reality meter. Pressing A again when the first hit connects makes him swipe with his other hand, draining another 3% of his Reality meter. Pressing A a third time makes him project a straight shot of energy from his eyes that inflicts twice the damage of one of the first two hits and drains 5% of his Reality meter.

Move Description: - Ilrys unleashes a short-range beam of energy from both hands that can disrupt his target's molecules for a split second. Drains 10% of his Reality meter.

Move Description: - Ilrys causes a momentary flash of prescience to manifest within his opponent's mind, showing them a vivid possibility of their violent death at his hands. This stuns them for one second due to the horrific image, but restores 5% of their life bar because they are so terrified they fight harder against him. Drains 15% of Ilrys' Reality meter.

Move Name: - Teleport
Move Description: - Ilrys is transformed into a fast-moving streak of bright yellow energy for one second, his movement controlled by the D-pad as normal. While in energy form he is completely invulnerable, can move freely in any direction, and can pass straight through any obstacles in his path. At the end of the duration he pops back into the real world; if he reappears within a solid object he is shunted to the nearest empty space and takes 10% damage to his life bar. Drains 30% of his Reality meter.

Move Description: - The entire world reverses like a mirror image, complete with life bars on the wrong sides of the game screen and any text or numbers showing backwards. Drains 60% of Ilrys' Reality meter.

Move Description: - The entire world is flooded with yellow light, completely obscuring the battlefield for two seconds. Ilrys and his enemy can still fight exactly as normal, they are completely unimpeded except for the screen-blanking light. Drains 35% of his Reality meter.
Fatality 1 (up, up, down, down, A, B)

Move Description: - With an unearthly screech Ilrys spreads his arms wide, yellow energy pouring from his eyes to envelop his enemy in a cloud of motes of plasmic energy. With a screen-warping shiver, reality itself breaks wide open and sucks the enemy into the howling chaos between the planes, never to be heard from again. As this is a Fatality, no Reality drain is inflicted on Ilrys.
Fatality 2 (left, right, left, X, Y)

Move Description: - With a mad giggle Ilrys points directly at his enemy, and a brilliant flare of yellow light surrounds them for a split second. When it clears there is another Ilrys standing there, Reality having granted him a new ally in the fight to protect the cosmos. As this is a Fatality, no Reality drain is inflicted on Ilrys.
