I'm thinking about using the copy of Adobe Illustrator CS 5 I have on my computer to start drawing things like spaceships, but I can't decide if I want to or not. It would be closer to a plan-view line-drawing than anything more elegant, but I can see where it has appeal (like the people who draw things all the time like that on here).

If I did they'd be my unique creations, not regurgitating Star Wars or Star Trek design features, but does anybody have ideas of what might be cool? For starters I'm thinking about making designs with GURPS Spaceships and then drawing a 3-view plan of the ship.

Anybody find the idea interesting at all?
