Drop a nuke down the well? Last resort to the Oil Spill?

Yeah believe it or not, the Kremlin of Soviet Russia, in all their wisdom, has tried it before and it actually worked but this was with gas leaks, no not burst pipes, full on gas deposits beneath the ground actually flaming 120ft fires out of cracks.

Drop a nuke and the super heated rock will crumble and may even melt the hole shut, with that much pressure, whatever is down there has a tiny hole to seep through so it may well clog up.
Apparently we don't need to worry about some gigantic hole combusting out of the ocean and taking half the earth's crust with it, the radiation will be slowed by 5 miles of crust but won't be blocked completely.
I think it's our only solution right now other than drilling into it again with a working well and taking what oil we can while the pressure is relieved on the other one currently spewing out of control.
What's everyone else's view on this? It's gonna be controversial no doubt.

My favorite idiot-moment came this week when the environmental groups told BP that they could not put the cleaned water back in the ocean. Sure, they'd cleaned 99% of the oil out, but it's illegal to put that 1% contaminated water back into the ocean.
At this point, I'm about ready to just cheer for the oil spill. If I were a betting dragon, I'd say it's winning. *blows vuvuzela*
Im in support of it, the way I see this, if we don't nuke it and nuke it right now, we'll never know and the longer we stall the more business screws up for us all round. Dunno about the US but the UK is suffering hard with petrol prices already, £1.00 + for a litre of unleaded petrol right now I think, Im told the rest of the world groans when they hear "price rise on gas" and it's like, we pay a quarter more than them already :P
Point being, it wouldn't be the end of the world if we used a little bomb to seal the well. :P
Blow into me instead. Grawr! :E
RAWR!!! Godzilla will save the day...
... squeak. ^'===='^
Compared to that and waiting for a relief pipe to be built is a hard choice...
They're hoping to collapse the walls of the oil field so that it may block the hole by melting the rock literally with the heat of the blast. Obama has geologists going down to the lab to discuss whether it might work or not.
The radiation might also have an unseen effect, like mutating into a giant oil monster that shoots eye lasers. D:
