Oh yes, it's another nightmare journal.

Oh god a jackalope!
Yeah, you can go ahead and skip this if you want, but I swear my nightmares are the stuff of your nightmares' nightmares. :V
The bad thing is, it was very... lucid, I guess you'd say. That is, pain felt like pain, emotions felt like emotions, and everything was believably real.
So, it starts out simply enough, waking up to start a new day. Then everything starts to get really weird. It starts out with my pancakes (yes, I eat in m' dreams) being covered in blood. Like... the really thick black blood that you see from monsters. And yet by following dream logic, I brush it off and walk outside.
The sky is literally black, yet the sun is still out and shining, and everyone's going around with blank stares and even blanker eyes. Literally, no pupils or irises or anything. Completely white. Again, logic takes a backseat as I move over to an alleyway for whatever god-forsaken reason.
Bones crunching and flesh ripping is all I hear for a while, then I come face to face with a rather... gruesome creature. Think 'Them' mixed with 'Creature from the Black Lagoon' mixed with Van Helsing's werewolf, and you'll get about what I saw. Quite scary. It growls at me, and suddenly the skies seem to open over head, blood raining down from the heavens, again the dark kind... then there's a moment of complete blackness and a blast of pain right through my chest. The blackness lifts, and the creature's hand is going through my chest, holding onto my heart. Needless to say, I woke right the hell up after that... and to the sound of rain outside and my chest hurting.
Yeaaaaaaaaaah. Kinda freaked out right now. :V

... No wonder you don't like the rain :\
And I found out my great-grandfather died when it was raining that day, so there's that too. :P
Whatever the case, might be a good idea to look up as much as you can on lucid dreaming and dream control if you haven't already.
And rain is... ah, I dunno, really. Something about gray, rainy skies has always twinged a nerve with me, to the point where I have full-blown depressive states just from it raining for more than an hour... and if it's heavy rain, I get paranoid. x:
If you're interested, I can try and find a dream control tips file I was working on a while back, maybe something in it would he of help.
Ah, I heard that about meditation, and ironies of ironies I found myself completely unable to get asleep after meditating.
Odd that more lucid dreams means more nightmares though, I'd think being aware that you're dreaming would cut down on them somewhat.
