Oh god a jackalope!
All right folks, it's time for something fun and exciting: Ask the characters in my NanoWriMo project anything you want, anything at all. Sci-fi themed story, for fair warning.
Character 1: Perry Vales, chief of engineering. rabbit, male
Character 2: Argot, chief medical officer, robot, ambiguous
Character 3: Luke Kestrel, captain, deer, male
Character 4: Malcolm Summers, security, lion, male
Character 5: Valerie Mitchell, communications, komodo dragon, female
Ask about anything you want, go nuts with it! Just specify who you're asking and what you're asking.

I don't even know what just happened there.
Overall Question: What region/planets/universes does each crew member hail from? Is there any type of racism existing in this universe against politics or breeds?
Character 1: Perry Vales, chief of engineering. rabbit, male
What type of engineering crafts does Perry specialize in? Has he ever made a mistake that caused a craft to fall into critical condition and there for compromised the safety of his crews? Is he seasoned in his work or did he just get lucky in his position?
Character 2: Argot, chief medical officer, robot, ambiguous
Why is such a robot appointed to a medical position? Is it because they cannot be susceptible to the illnesses that would affect the crew? What type of robot is it, was it only programmed to help for medical issues or does it have a base of knowledge to assist the rest of the crew in their duties.
Character 3: Luke Kestrel, captain, deer, male
What sort of background does he have in his field as a captain. Did he go to a school for it or learned on the job to receive his position. Did he choose the people on the ship to be apart of his crew, or were they all put together for certain reasons or at random by the owner of the ship. What sort of cargo is he responsible for? Is he known to bend the rules here and there when it comes to order or does he have a hard on for being strict to the book.
Character 4: Malcolm Summers, security, lion, male
Security is security I assume. Its his job to protect the crew and cargo (if any). What sort of security is he though? Private hire or part of the government/law keepers. Does he really want to have this type of job or was it a last resort. If he is private hire, is he considered a bounty-hunter or pirate or just a rogue in the world taking odd jobs that he knows how to supply a bit of muscle.
Character 5: Valerie Mitchell, communications, komodo dragon, female
Communications, I assume she is in charge of interpersonal relations between communicating to other ships/planets and so on for any official business. Does she know multiple languages, policies and laws. Is she in charge of a bit more than just that and takes care of the ships other critical aspects or just does repairs here and there when something breaks and so on.
As a finisher, is there any deception among the crew? Is someone acting as what they usually aren't? Acting as a ploy to fool others or gain a new life and acceptance?
Overall Question: What region/planets/universes does each crew member hail from? Is there any type of racism existing in this universe against politics or breeds?
Perry Vales: I'm home grown from Earth. Born and raised in the commonwealth of England, just south of London. Dunno much about anything outside of the engineering bay.
Argot: I was constructed on Jupiter's moon. There is a certain amount of bias against me because I am an artificial life form, but I'm officially recognized as sentient so there is nothing untowards about my existence in my opinion.
Luke Kestrel: Born and raised on Luna, ma'am. I know of a fair bit of bias within the military, but not too much.
Malcolm Summers: The Great States of Africa, as unusual as that might sound. Xenophobia is a problem but I've not encountered much that I can't intimidate down from a /very/ inopportune stance for their health and well-being.
Valerie Mitchell: Mars Colony Deus. Don't know of much... Malcolm's pretty good at keeping that sort of thing from ever cropping up.
Now onto the individual questions.
What type of engineering crafts does Perry specialize in? Has he ever made a mistake that caused a craft to fall into critical condition and there for compromised the safety of his crews? Is he seasoned in his work or did he just get lucky in his position?
Perry: I specialize in ship's maintenance with training in zero gravity repair and tech maintenance. As for mistakes? Yeah, I've made more than a few. It's why I'm pretty much half mechanical at this point. Arm, left lung, heart, various vertebrae, legs from just above the knee, portion of my skull. I'm fairly seasoned in my job, I like to think, even if I'm a right dumbass when I don't have my toxicity mediation pumped into me.
Why is such a robot appointed to a medical position? Is it because they cannot be susceptible to the illnesses that would affect the crew? What type of robot is it, was it only programmed to help for medical issues or does it have a base of knowledge to assist the rest of the crew in their duties.
Argot: I was appointed because I'm able to repair damaged tissue down to the nanomicron with a .00000003% margin of error. I have an outstanding track record in surgery and I'm Perry Vales' personal medic when it comes to his cybernetics. I have training and knowledge in all aspects of ship's functions, but I'm more comfortable with being in the medical bay unless there's a ship wide emergency that requires me.
Luke Kestrel: I have twenty years of ship experience, among freighters, warships, flag ships and just about any sort of transportation imaginable. I chose this crew for their service record, though I've come to regret a couple of decisions here and there, especially since this is such a small crew at only ten people. I mostly interact with... pretty much everyone in this interview, as I'm the day-shift captain. I'm responsible for transportation of military goods and hardware, mostly supplies for the various space stations dotted throughout the Spiral arm of the milky way. Bending the rules is non-negotiable, we need to maintain order and if we can't do that in our own ship, then we can't do it anywhere else.
Malcolm Summers: I'm military security, part of the government. I like this job because it gives me a reason to flex muscle when I need to, though I would much prefer a space station. A lot roomier, yanno? Not easy for a guy as tall as me to get around in a cramped little tin can.
Valerie Mitchell: I handle everything, whether it's requisition forms or communicating off ship. Every single personnel communique goes through me and then it's sent off through the proper channels. I know forty languages, with cheat sheets for fifteen more and I'm quite versed in politics and law. I've served as lawyer to Perry Vales after his 'incident' with ... he probably doesn't want me to say anything on that. No, I'll leave that to him to answer, should he ever want to. As for anything else, I suppose I'm trained enough to fill in for any position on the ship but much like our robotic friend in the med bay I'm more comfortable at comms.
As a finisher, is there any deception among the crew? Is someone acting as what they usually aren't? Acting as a ploy to fool others or gain a new life and acceptance?
Perry Vales: I'd like to have a new life, I'm just glad no one brings up anything from my past, whether it's where I got these limbs and additions of mine. Deception... not really from me.
The rest: No deception on a government ship, at least among the day crew.
Argot: Considering Commander Vales' actions, I would probably assume that he is homosexual. It is not in my nature to say anything without his approval, however.
