I liked it. Some bits keep running in my head like the bit where Cody is in the double bicep pose in the toga on page 177.
I liked the mini story line too, the Thunder Meatball explaination is great.

I also liked the Todd front shot on page 166, but it begs the question, who is more muscuarly defined Todd or Cody (if you remove the fluff factor)?
on page 187 I know the character refrence (bottom left corner) but what character is the refrence for one one on page`190 (bottom right) or the one on page174 (top right)?
I can't seem to place them.

It's a great story so far and I can't wait to see what comes up in vol 2 for the extras.

The only game reference I noticed was a Street Fighter one, with someone wearing Yun's outfit and Cody's line "Cripes, l'm not dressed as anybody!" and thought "I swear, I'm never wearing a baseball cap again". Really cute. XD

I didn't really understand it, to be honest. I know I hated that Abel character for what he was doing to Todd, and wanted someone to kick the living bejeezus out of him. But in general I've always found the whole "plume" arc of TCM a bit bewildering anyway, and not emotionally grounded in reality the way the rest of ISO was.

You probably should have put Josh in a cameo in one of your "regular" ISO comics. Here, he seems a bit "inserted".

I don't really have a problem with it, per se, though. In general, the mecha-martial arts theme has never really been my thing, so I basically shrugged it off as part of the TCM/ISO mythos.

well personally i liked it,it was fun , interesting and had tons of new cool characters. even if two of them where from the first book hehe.
you did great on the story idea , but i personally did miss to dont see any of the rest of the gang outside of cody , todd and boris
the moves were great and the names you gave them was so much a kind of street fighter to me that i had a blast with that (deadly fluffyness hehe)
some parts were making that comic even more out of reality than the rest of the regulars.
i mean u can say that all the stuff happening in ISO can happen in rl (except maybe jeff little "glass push device" he used on doug lol)
this one is like in a complete different world , it was like watching hidden dragon, crouching tiger.
i think it was cool and really would be good to make a follow on it . but iwould add more of the regular gang (jake , jeff , zach...) seems empty when they dont even appear
btw the intervention of the extra griphon costume and boris were great ideas )
it got a nice touch overall to me its a winner i would order 10 more volumes sir lol

I liked the bonus story. It was refreshing to essentially have an entire new comic to ISO and I REALLY enjoyed the fact that it wasn't really ISO centric but its own little story. Plenty of Easter eggs for the Laziness will not be tolerated fans too. I liked it though I needed to reread the story a second time to get the full plot.

I LOVED how Boris was so crucial to solving the entire thing but how he does it is obscured that was fantastically funny and I loved it. the "how do you know this will work?" "because its cool" line also grabbed me. Nice use of action as always and some funny scenes. I think over all it was creative and a great deal of fun so yeah...

And yeah, I definitely wanted a "break" for readers from the full storyline.

I picked up Volume 1 based on a recommendation from Tempe over at the SofaWolf Press Booth at Anthrocon and I'm glad I did.

Achilles Emasculator, now that was funny, ad I think entirely appropriate given the situation of trying to buy some time to figure out how to get that suit off of Todd.

So when will Volume 2 come out?! I have got to know what happens to Cody when his parents show up, among other things!

Vol 2 is most likely slated for January 2012, though I'm negotiations with Sofawolf about that still.
In the meantime, there's always the free archives. We're up to Issue 8 now, so you'll have to skip back to March to start with Issue 6...
