Job go bye bye
We had a meeting this afternoon at work and I found out that we are loosing all of our contracts at the end of the year. While we could technically pick up some new contracts, I'm not holding by breath and marked this job off as lost. It's a strange feeling as I have been with the same employer since March 2001 and it will feel strange working somewhere else.
I'm more annoyed than anything as this would have been useful to know before I moved into my new apartment 2 weeks ago (I would have not moved in and probably would have gone back to my parents until I figured out what to do). Thankfully the apartment complex will let me break my lease without penalty if I loose my job.
While I don't know exactly what I'm going to do for everything I do know that:
* I will be able to weather being jobless for a while as I will be collecting unemployment, have have 2 years of savings, and have practically no debt.
* I will still be attending EF and going to Virginia in August as I have paid for these trips in full.
One thing I'm strongly considering after I am let go, is taking the opportunity to try living somewhere else besides Southern California. Right now Phoenix looks like the best candidate as I know a lot of people there and its much cheaper to live out here compared to Southern California.
The next couple of months are going to be interesting to say the least.

I'm sure things'll look up soon, hope it's as soon as possible!
