Bacha Bazi - The Dancing Boys of Afghanistan
15 years ago
"Bacha Bazi" (or BoyPlay)
It’s an ancient practice, secretly revived--young boys sold by families to ‘entertain’ wealthy merchants and warlords. An undercover investigation into this illicit sex trade...
I've just watched this documentary: Frontline - The Dancing Boys of Afghanistan
Site link here: http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/front.....e/dancingboys/
It was an eye opener for sure.
Boys as young as 11 are sold by their families to become dancing boys, they get money and the boy learns to dance and play music. They basically dance for large groups of powerful men and are used for sex afterwards.
It's not considered gay as these are "beardless boys" and seem to be classed almost as women over there. Powerful warlords would all have a dancing boy as a lover/prize/status symbol etc..

"Although homosexuality between grown men is a sin, it's OK to enjoy a boy provided he's still beardless ('Bacha bereesh' - pre-pubescent boys are classed as females.)
Now okay i'm a perv but this was an eye opener, it's illegal in Afghanistan but widespread according to this documentary.
There are torrents out there for this and Americans can watch it online i think at the link, obviously there's nothing sexual in this as it's a mainstream documentary.
I think it's worth watching, i just felt like sharing this as i'd never heard of it before.
Wonder if i can get me some dancing furrys?

Shocked beyond words.
Sadden to know that the families willingly sell their sons into this trade. I thought soiciety was beyond that , I don't know why I am always surprised to see it still happens.
When they spoke to an uncle of one boy they asked if he knew what happens. He said he did, but he's a boy....these things will pass.
It sounds like survivor mentality to me, they need to survive so they do this.
I'm not justifying it, but their country is broken.
Fact: The taliban outlawed this practice, now we've removed them from power it's creeping back.
