Re: Custom avatar opportunity!
We'll be taking one custom avatar commission to be started later this week. It will be a quicker project, to be used as an example for future commission work. This means it will be cheaper than normal (roughly half of base price), though it won't be pushing any new features or re-inventing anything. With what we've been working on and practicing in our "down time," Wingless's building and texturing skills have improved significantly, so it will be pretty nice.
Out of any received applications, we'll be choosing one or two to accept, though others may be contacted about future chances.
This avatar will have:
> Textured eyes and eyebrows. (No prim eyes, at the moment.)
> All features from the dingo and mam-dragon, using the mam-dragon's HUD.
> Custom skin (markings, colors, etc.) with semi-custom muscle tone from other projects and some new work.
> Sculpted "skull" prim (the head base that eyes and eyebrows are on)
> One custom hair style.
Package will include:
> Basic 2.5 image ref-sheet
> Can be upgraded to full ref sheet (for commissioning other artists) for $75 USD.
> Full avatar made from new sculpts and textures.
> Includes HUD and backup box.
> A copy for each of your accounts, and up to 5 friends (more negotiable). Will provide copies for new accounts in the future, if contacted (within reason).
> Optional recolors (for normal recolor prices).
> Can be delivered to friends for free.
> Textures in PSD format for modding: Ears, prim-tail texture, legs, swatches. Can't include eyes, eyebrows, skin, or flexi-tail.
> Full permission, custom shape.
Does NOT include:
> Full permission prims, scripts, or most textures.
> .PSD files for most textures.
Price:
Starting price is $250 USD. (Roughly L$70,000).
Complicated designs, such as stripes, intricate or detailed tattoos and scars, or certain markings that cross prims and seams, will raise the base price.
Quality improves with price. The base price ensures a decent level of quality, but if you want more time spent perfecting the design, or want to ensure that complicated features come out exactly how you want, you'll need to pay a bit more, so we can afford to spend time correcting and adjusting details (one of the most time consuming and difficult parts of a project like this is staying in contact with the commissioner).

Any pictures or descriptions you have, or can come up with. This service CAN include designing re-designing a new creature or character just for you, but this will cost extra for the time spent sketching and discussing this.
> When you can pay, and (roughly) how much you are willing to spend.
If you can't pay right away, we won't be able to take your commission right away, but could potentially hang on to it for a future date. Also, the amount you're willing to pay can make your commission more attractive to us, because (in addition to paying bills with this money) we'll be able to show off a higher-quality example for future commissioners.
> When you need or want the avatar.
The sooner you need it, the higher the price will be, because this puts our other projects (and thus other sources of income) on hold. We're not going to make you wait forever, but being able to work on the commission as a "break" from other work, instead of being our only work, will make us happier, and will probably result in a better avatar, instead of rushed work.

FA+

A good bit of time and effort goes into a custom avatar. This is less than minimum wage for the time invested.
Hopefully I will have worked up enough commission money to get one next year. ;o;
That's about 5-13 times the cost of most 2D commissions, for about 10-20 times the hours spent making it.
skin upper
skin lower
head-base
head-muzzle
head-jaw
teeth
eyes
eyebrows
ears
legs
assorted parts (hands, fluffls, tail whatever doesn't really take super long)
checking (going over and fixing any little thing that can be fixed)
what if the dragon were a basic design like mine? i dont suppose that would earn a discount XD
No detailed scales, only hide. The only thing would be the mane and chin fluff for meeee
would like to talk yis
