Emerging from Cryosleep
15 years ago
The best sleep I ever get is when I'm listening to Ambient music without any beat. for this, I play this station on my laptop next to my bedside table: http://www.bluemars.org/cryosleep.php
Today I woke to something I don't hear often: a sax playing over the soundscapes of the song (it was "Century Seasons" by Jonn Serrie). What a wonderful thing to wake up to.
It's just so calming to me to be listening to calm and beautiful soundscapes that take hold of my mind and seems to help me achieve a deeper sleep. That being said, i try not to play it when I have work early in the morning as I tend to oversleep whenever I have it playing. Still, when that is not the case, Ambient music from that Blue Mars station makes the perfect lullaby.

Unless I am extremely tired I cannot sleep without silence even soundscapes lead to thinking which ultimately keeps me awake

I figured it doesn't work for all people. Human brains can work so differently to one another and sleep is just one of those thing we have yet to even begin to truly understand.

I usually sleep with the tv on...but really I can sleep anywhere with any noise ^_^;

haha, then you have it easy there, buddy. :-P I can't seem to sleep with anything that has voices (whether they're vocals in songs or actors on a tv show), so something like Ambient music tends to be the perfect thing for me.
