I rarely take cash for helping others with their computer problems but that's only because I don't have to do it to live... But some people have really simple problems and they exaggerate them :D
Oh god... I could take at most around 50$ here... But I still prefer programming than dealing with problems of people. Honestly it's usually an easy job but sometimes tends to get really boring... Most people have so simple problems so that this job is good ONLY for making cash...
My BF tends to give me fairly reasonable challenges where it's like a 2 or 3 stage problem where the solution to one implements another but I do his for free
If your computer crashes, you never have backup hardware. I get tons of emails all the time at work saying, "my hard drive failed and I have no backups so I'm starting over from scratch."
a backup hard drive is SEVENTY DOLLARS. That's not a lot of money. If seventy dollars is a lot of money, you should eat PBnJ for a few weeks and save up your pittance and buy a freaking backup hard drive! >.<
I have an external hard drive solely for backups and very valuable things are backed up on pendrives too... If I lose something because I forgot to back it up :D well it's my fault XD Fortunately hard drives crash very rarely...
And I agree with you :) Hard drives are fucking cheap now... Especially if you want to buy an ordinary external hard drive (not a portable one)... If you don't need to take it anywhere such a thing is the best choice. It's cheap and you can buy a hard drive of high capacity. Somehow I barely believe in "my hard drive failed" stories. That would mean that only hard drives fails while like I said hard drive rarely fail... it's usually something else... As long as you don't kick and skake your computer while the disc is working, it shouldn't fair any time soon.
You're joking now right? Internet as the name says is a network of servers... there are some servers that fuction as main nodes but they are not necessary for the internet to function... It's just a network so there is no hoster.
Because the infrastructure needed to maintain connection to the network is fucking expensive and requires maintenance from time to time. It's a very expensive installation hun. In fact companies invest money to build such installation and become an internet provider in a new area (where previously internet was not available) and they have to maintenance everything... It's an investment for many years... that's why you have to pay for it :) Internet is maybe a network but requires physical object to keep you connected (wires, servers, optical fibers) so they cost much :) Even if you create a radio-network you still need radio-transmitters which cost :)
Companies which make these installations are usually from different countries... I doubt they originate from Zimbabwe... They are probably from another country like USA or Great Britain, France and so on and they just sell internet to Zimbabwe...
Anyway Zimbabwe is in Africa so they only need to build a connection to the africa and rest might be done by local companies which buy the right to use the internet from the company that built the fiber optic connection... I'm not very much into how companies work :) I'm just a tech-guy :)
:D
Shit.
Guess he just got fed up with it.
luckily I'm not an artist!
btw funny strip :D
