Bots and other internet oddities.

Internet has been a place for aggresive advertisement for a long time but spamming through bots on instant messangers haven't ceased to amuse me. Especially since those bots are usually pretty primitive. I've talked to a few bots which were pretty good but those employed for pestering IM users are sadly not. Too bad they usually are quick to go offline and you can't really make fun of them for too long. Here's a conversation I just had :D.

They don't even understand the word "no". It is really very easy to write a bot which only sends some preprogrammed messages and doesn't even try to parse the input. All the bots out there seem to be sensitive to the word "bot". If you use it, they get "offended" and say they are not bots. Please... make them... livelier...

Normally I don't click links, especially those which looks like made especially for me. But this time I made an exception. I was bombed by information how totally FREE is the subscription I was to sign for. The membership was LIFETIME FREE. I mean the membership... only membership. Because sadly under that pile of FREEsomeness there was a small note that along with my super free memebership I get a Premium upgrade which makes the service free for a few days and then they charge about 40€/month for each one of them.
It's amazing. In the age of sooooo much free porn in the internet there are still some people who are willing to pay for it and still some who want to and make money out of it. Well... one could say FA is no different in sometimes it's indeed just like it but at FA people usually get commissioned content tailored to their specific needs and the rules are clear. Nobody is trying to squeeze money out of you with deception.

Someone was smart enough to program a bot, yet has broken English, l33t speak and tries to hunt down living disembodied penises; as anyone with a brain can see what a scam it is. The only people that are dumb enough to fall for that are too stupid to work or to old to have a functioning penis.

There is probably a tragic tale behind this bot.
Edwardo, a Hispanic programmer immigrated to the United States in hope for a new future. Growing up in a broken household, his drunken father murdered his mother when he was just 16. Edwardo's uncle took him under his wing, his uncle worked for Telecom, teaching Edwardo a little about programming. Being a player, Edwardo's uncle often brings woman home to have sex with, sometimes inviting his nephew in on the fun. After both Edwardo and his uncle fell ill, they went to the doctor and found out they have aids. Fifteen years later, his uncle died of aids, with no money to buy more medicine, in 2009 Edwardo snuck to the US in hopes for a better life and future. He stayed at one of his uncles friends, making a program to take peoples money. Desperate, unable to get work and slowly dying, Edwardo made the bot and released it into the servers.
But it's too late, Edwardo has lost the battle and has died from aids. Yet, the bot still lives on, trying to collect money to save a person who is already dead.
It's so easy to paint something as a giant dirt bag and walk away ticked. This gaytor loves to have fun with everything and every male ♥
