I remember my senior schedule for my first and only semester: Computer Engineering II and English IV.

I had to take all 6 classes for my senior year because i screwed up before then. I did make up for it though by getting straight As.

Nice! :3 I got straight A's last semester of junior year, which was particularly tough to do, considering I had Calculus with the school's bitchiest/creepiest/weirdest teacher. O__o

Oh, I didn't mean the driving test. xD This is just for my permit. I have to take a 30-question test on a computer, and I can only miss 6 questions. I missed 7. :P

I read through the driving handbook, but I didn't study the numbers well enough. :/ The only questions I missed were "How many feet away from this..." or "What is the fine for this violation...", etc.

Yeah, I missed really specific questions like that too. When I was getting my permit for a moped, there was a question like "how much higher from the seat must the handle bars be." Crazy specific stuff no one really cares about :x

For lunch you could try packing lunch for a while; can be cheaper depending on what you buy. I started packing my lunch because I was tired of waiting in out lunch lines, especially when people cut all the time and the pizza ran out (our school ordered pizza from pizza places in town) just as I got to the front of the line. Later it became about saving money, though, as my parents weren't giving me lunch money anymore. On a related note, microwavable eggrolls and burritos are kinda cheap! I usually bought milk from school because most drinks I bought at first were more expensive, but at least with buying milk I could wait to join the lunch line 'till it died down.

As for what to do during your free hour, I can only give random suggestions! One of my biggest issues was trying to find something entertaining to do during my study halls! If you can get together with any friends, could play cards; I really enjoyed playing Butthole with my friends whenever we got a free moment. Could study (Hah!), could draw, could read, could work on another hobby, or you could do what I did and try to think of something to do XD

I usually buy a slice of a pizza and a cookie, and occasionally a bottle of Powerade, which usually sums up to $3-4. :/ I guess I could bring my lunch if it comes to that.

I was already considering becoming a student aide during second semester, but now that I have a spare hour to waste, I might as well do it this semester too. :P My ceramics teacher already told me she'd love to have me be her aide, so at least I know it'll work out.

Butthole: Haha, I thought that'd get that type of reaction. Although directions to card games is never very good by text, I'll try to explain it!

The game uses a regular deck of cards minus the jokers. The dealer shuffles the deck, then deals 3 sets of 4 cards to each player: one set of 4 spread face down, one set of 4 spread face up, and on set of 4 stacked face down. No one may see the first set of face down cards, including the player who was dealt the cards; these cards are lined up horizontally in front of the player and used later. The face down stack is the player's hand. The face up set goes into the player's hand, but everyone gets to see them first. Each player then chooses 4 cards from their hand (which now consists of their hidden 4 for their hand and the 4 everyone knows about) and places them face up on each of the face down cards in front of them (to know which cards to put here, read the rest of the explanation first). Each player should then have 4 face down cards with 4 face up cards on top of them, and 4 cards in their hand. The dealer then puts the deck somewhere everyone can reach, the top card is flipped and put in the discard pile as the first card in play, and gameplay starts clockwise, left of the dealer.

In each turn, players must play a card of equal to or greater value than the card on the top of the discard pile. If there is a deck and the player has fewer than 4 cards after playing a card, the player picks up a card. If a player can't play a card, he/she must pick up all the cards in the discard pile and play one card, normally their lowest. Ace is the highest rank card and 3 is the lowest; 2 and 10 serve special purposes: 2 and 10 can be played at any time regardless of what's currently the top card in the discard pile, and anything can be played after them. While 10 keeps the current stack going, 2 removes all cards in the discard pile from play. Once the deck is gone and a player uses all the cards in his/her hand, he/she begins playing the cards face-up in front of them (in no particular order). If at any time he/she has to pick up, he/she picks up one of his/her face up cards as well as the discard pile and can not continue playing the face-up cards until his/her hand is gone again. Once the face-up cards are gone, the player must play the face-down cards (in no particular order) without looking at them before playing. Once a player is out of cards, he/she wins.

Yeah, we always hesitate to tell teachers what game we're playing when they ask XD The reason (imo) it's called that is because if someone plays something that screws you over, you're inclined to say "You asshole!"

Six classes? SIX CLASSES? You lucky little shit. At the school I went to, we had eight classes all crammed into eight hours, from 8:25 am to 4:05 pm. I didn't get a single class off because my school was a hellhole that should be burnt to dust by now. >[

But in the case of having nothing to do, I would say bring entertainment. Something to draw, a book, even your DS or something lol.

School starts at 8:00 and ends at 3:00 for me, so your school day lasted 40 minutes longer than mine (although now mine ends at 2:00 because I have 6th hour off xD). :/ Must've sucked having eight classes though. We've always had six, even in junior high. I have two release hours 'cause I'm only missing three credits (out of 21) that I need for graduation. x3 I need a year of English, a year of Government, and a year of P.E. I'm taking English and Government at school, and I'm taking health classes online for the P.E. credit. And since I'm only required to take four classes at school, I get two hours off. :D (even though they're NOT IN THE RIGHT DAMN ORDER >__> *smacks a counselor*)

I'll probably just be a student aide. The ceramics teacher loves me 'cause I helped her after school last year, so I'll just be her official aide this year. *shrugs* I think I get community service hours for it since it's technically not a class, so that's a plus.

OH! Have you heard about that new law that got passed? It basically evens out the system so mediocrity and stupidity can rule, while us AP kids suffer. Irving's taken a stance where, no matter what, work cannot be counted as 'Late,' and even if it is turned in past its duedate, the teacher is not allowed to deduct points.

-REALLY- pisses me off. The fuck is the point in being a good student anymore? Why should I stress out about getting work turned in, now, since there's no consequences for turning something in late? And you should be! I completely agree with you. They're helping the lazy people but that is only making them lazier because now they won't receive consequences for their actions. So it's only making MORE lazy people. And those who want to be smart, who want to learn, grow, change, they're becoming far and few in this world... So yes, they're forgetting. :/

EXACTLY! People say that the generations are going down hill fast, but look at what they're doing to -MAKE- that happen! Will we want that in the work force? Will we want to rely on these people to run our businesses, pay their taxes, take care of the community? NO! Because they can't even take enough care in what they do in school! Laziness ... unwillingness ... it all pisses me off, especially since I work so hard to rise above, to -learn-, to try to become as competent as possible.

Yeah :/ It's hard to see a good future with everything going on. Constant war, population manipulation through fear and confusion (don't accuse me of conspiracy theories >_> It's a confirmed psychological manipulatory strategy to control population, and is very commonly used in America since Post-World War II), global warming, the oil spill, endangered species ... The only thing I can really ... take hope in is that after we destroy this planet ... and kill everyone else off, Mother Nature, Gaia, will somehow prevail, and take back over.

Because humans are violent by nature. We kill to take what we want, what we need. It's in our history, it's in our present, it's in our future. Unless we just ... spontaneously evolve, we will just end up killing everything and eachother.

Joshua high school, where the morons change the scheduling every year. One year we had eight classes, 8:15 to 3:50 or so with a homeroom before lunch, the next year we had nine classes and homeroom once a month. IN that same year, we moved to having homeroom once a week. You want to talk about stupid people? Come to Joshua. :P

Ha ha. Exactly. How is a student expected to work when they have eight classes a day with homework for almost all of them due <i>everyday</i>. It's no wonder students aren't graduating these days :P

Gods, sounds almost as bad as Nimitz. We started this alternating 4th period, the one that's connected to lunch, where we have A days and B days. Unfortunately, I ended up having my -ONLY- Ap class, World History and French as my A and B classes. Dx -NOT- classes you want every other day. Dx Especially that last 6-weeks there, when I was out for over 10 days because I was so sick, I couldn't breathe? Yeah ... real fun, missing close to (effectively) 20 days of French and World History.

Oh, but I still do it. I'm burnt out as hell, and I get pissy, freak out, and sometimes compromise my immune system form stress, but I get by. Summers tend to be my time of relaxation, but up till last Thursday, we were watching two nine-yearolds from 7-6 every day. Needless to say, I'm in a worse mood, perpetually, than I was at the last day of school last year.

Ffffff. Wow. That's just... wow. And I always though having A and B days would have been a plus what with only having certain class two or three times a week. D:

A-B days are ... illogical. Teachers are required to be paid for one off-period, at least, every day. So if you break up what would normally be one day of school into two, you're losing money and education effectiveness because instead of paying your teachers one period off, you're paying for two every day. Add that in with the fact the students have to remember things they learned 2 days ago, after learning about subjects completely different the day before, not only will grades drop from just ... forgetting things, but you'll be losing money. A-B days -sound- good, in theory, but they ... suck. xD

*rolls eyes* Well it's not exactly "time off" if I get it during the middle of the day, is it? It's not like I can go home. :P I was hoping to get off after 4th hour (at 12:20) so I could go home for lunch and possibly work afterwards. Now I get off at 2:00 and we have to pay for school lunches all year (which my mom might make -me- pay for).

I reaaaad the journal, I reaaad it. xP I know why you wanted it. I'm just saying, be glad you had the option, my school cut Senior Outs, so now, until I graduate, I have to have a whole day booked, no period off. Even in the middle of the day. Even if it's just sitting in the library, you at least get an hour or so to -NOT- deal with school. X.x And if nothing else, you could use that hour for homework, so you don't have to do as much at home. *shrug*
