Reminder: It's 2019 and you still can't change your username

How has this functionality not been implemented yet?
I guess I shouldn't be surprised, since FA is perpetually 5+ years behind the times. But still -- this is an option that nearly every furry-themed website has offered for years. I've changed my username on both SoFurry and InkBunny before. It's a pretty simple feature to have, and very convenient at that.
I would enthusiastically welcome the opportunity to change my username, because 1) it doesn't match the usernames that I use on other sites, and 2) I was 15 years old when I made this username back in 2008, hence the edgy "666" appended to the end. This username is NOT what I want to display to the furry community anymore. But in order to change it, I would have to create an entirely new account and lose over 2,200 watchers.
Here's hoping FA gets around to it eventually.
In other news, I posted more lewd art~ Go check it out! ;3

FA+

The problem is with the coding of the site itself. They would have to make an entirely brand new website and have everyone sign up new to that website to be able to code in the ability to change your username.
I doubt it's that difficult for them to implement a username-changing option. But it probably requires enough time/effort that they're never going to do it.
No, it's literally impossible for them to do it on the current site. It's something to do with the way usernames are stored in the system. They would have to completely remove all user accounts and start from scratch *shrugs* Read about it on a few of the update blogs/forum posts stuff.
