More ranting.

A question that gets asked of macrophiles a lot often goes like this: 'if you could experience what your character experiences as a big stompy macro demolishing a city, would you do it in real life?' It's a cliché, I know, but I thought I might as well add my own thoughts into it.
My answer would be 'no'. Plain and simple, just 'no'. Though there are a multitude of reasons.
Don't get me wrong, I've had Rattle do some pretty violent things; a quick look through my gallery here or more than ten minutes with me discussing my personal preferences would prove that. Yes, I do like big stompy yiffy rampages, I like them a lot. But that still does not mean I would do that if I happened to turn into 4 miles of horny wolf in the real world. See, I happen to be able to separate fantasy from reality. When Rattle steps on a city block it's just fantasy, no one really gets hurt and sometimes just to ease my conscience I assume the city's been evacuated anyway. The same situation in reality would just be deplorable, I'm talking about the deaths of hundreds. I'd like to think in that situation I would not lose my sense of ethics.
Then there's the classic 'ants' argument; if you're not concerned about the ethical implications of stepping on ants as you walk down the street why should a macro worry about stepping on people? I really can't believe I have to spell this out to some, but people are not ants.
Another twist on this question is 'would I want to be a big macro wolf in the real world in the first place?' Again the answer would be no, it's pretty much the same question as 'would you like to be your fursona in the real world?' On the internet, across FurAffinity, BigFurs, SizeBooru and many other sites we have crafted a fantasy for ourselves; an escape from the general crappiness of real life where we can lose ourselves in this fantasy and explore parts of ourselves that we cannot do so in 'normal' society. If this becomes reality, well, it's going to suck hard isn't it? The novelty will wear off and it'll become just mundane as, well, reality.
Anyway, that's my opinion for what it's worth. Just felt like ranting again, which is pretty much what these journals are for, right? Right?

I wouldn't mind being a small macro in RL though XP
