after all this, my moms laptop finally gave up. We just got it back today and now, I have to put everything back on it once again. I have no pics, none of the ideas that Era and I came up with, none of the other artwork I saved on here that others drew, are all gone. Now I have to start from square one, and start all over. It wont take long if I just remember were everything was, its all good. On the other hand, it kinda works better now, it even loads faster, soo manybe its a good thing that it was reformatted. Soo, I guess I'll get to reinstalling the rest of this software for this computer, which may take me all today and some of tomorrow.
I give you two advices!
1. Make backups every now and then. When you do some, make them more often. By buring Data CD's or DVD's
2. When you have some extra money in your poket. I would suggest to bu a extern USB Harddrive. They super simple to plug on PC or Laptop, they basical work very well and easy for making backup of larger ammount of datas. And you can plug them simply on any PC you want. Its maybe not everybodys choose. But it kinda useful in my eyes. because I lost twices data on very random momment (thanks to S-ATA(N)). So I can just recomment that, as a easy and well going way to save your data from getting lost in HD crashes / PC Crashes / Formats.
3. Split the corrent HD into diffrent partitions by the windows install. Best way to go is to make 2 or more partions, One for the Operation system alone, and the other for your prgorams and software / files... When you need then to reformat, you only format the partiion C: where the OS, the files you saved on D: (other partion) are then still alive and able to work onces the OS is setup again. On this way I did dodge a coupe of file loses and such. So its another nice idea to elevade future big trouble... But ya this is special PC using, and not everybodys taste + I dunno how this would work on Laptops, I usual use normal PCs with big HDs ......
So I hope you get your stuff back Bigshow, I know how crap this can feel when the files where improent for you.
