I would much rather have the laptop...

well, the paradox is that a dog will keep me fit and happily exercised and spiritually fulfilled
i'm fairly certain a laptop would do the exact opposite.

hrmm Well having a dog is more than just having a companion. To me there is this whole psyche you have to adopt in order to control the dog instead of letting it "run all over you" thus destroying your house ect. Though it will keep you distracted for sure.

aw, it's not really a psyche to adopt for me. i've grown up around dogs, so the way to behave around them & how to let them behave comes pretty naturally. i've worked with big, dominant, destructive young dogs before, and a smaller adult dog is just that much easier to handle. i like the distraction! :P

Ha ha good on you then <3 We made the mistake of adopting a second dog when we didn't know about how our first dog would act. Now we have two dogs that have gotten into 3 fights, one of the very major 3,000 dollars worth...and on top of it a stubborn husband that doesn't want to find a new home for the newest dog. Thus him being at work most of the time leaves me having to constantly watch them and make sure they aren't at one another.

that sounds quite unpleasant- rebellious doggies can definitely rack up a bill & it doesn't sound like fun that you're the one who has to keep an eye on them all the time ): i hope that they can get along for you. do they walk together?

Oh they walk together just fine. However anytime they are left alone for any amount of time a fight breaks out. As long as we are with them they are okay...at least I should say most of the time. I have had two small outbreaks inside the house after my husband leaves for work, but it is really easy to get them apart.

It also doesn't help that we found out our oldest dog (she is nearly 7) is part pit bull which I believe leads to most of her aggression once they do fight. She can't let the fight go even though we break them up. At the same time the younger dog (barely 1 year) is the one to start everything by harassing the other.
