I couldn't reply to the linked posting but I can tell you guys that gan and I had discussed this some time back. and yes, he at least asked permission before doing anything with Zig, which is why he got my thumbs up about the situation. As for the rest of his journal, I can only agree with the parts I was around for or was asked about but as far as I can tell. this is pretty much what went down.

The real shame of it all is that no one seems to want to ask me or even let me know what's going on in SL and then stuff like this happens. is it really that hard to either ask me, or at worse, make your own characters? unfortunately it seems so. :P

hearing the term "making your own character" being equated to 'at worse" kinda sucks, and only reminds me of just how much people copy off each other. i remember the fandom before it became a huge popularity contest ;)

in order to reply on the linked posting, you just gotta make an acount real quick. it only takes a few seconds. but its not uber necessary

Just as Max stated, I too was contacted several times by Ganador (both through e-mail and over the phone) regarding this situation. Oddly enough, an incident like this happened many years ago too!

I've had folks ask me if they could play one of my characters in the SL game. I generally politely tell them "no, but thanks for asking about it first". It's not that I am trying to be a dick about it, but quite honestly, I don't want someone playing a character and acting, well, out of character!

I, too, was approached by Ganador a few years ago and was asked if I wanted to have the skunks made up to appear in SL. I thanked him, but politely declined, since I was (at that time) in the process of laying out all the details for the future Skunkworks/Caterwaul material. That and, well, I was pretty bored with the whole porn aspect and wanted to take the characters in a different direction. That's hard to do if folks are playing the characters online and slutting around!
