Nope, it has a negative impact on the script. Whenever she needs to communicate something she we have to stop everything so she can mime it out, then have someone say exactly what she was trying to, defeating the purpose.

It would take a skilled writer to make it a good character trait and I don't expect that in a children's story.

ive never liked this modern version of disneys version of tink. at least in the original movie she was closer to the way she was in the book. in the book she was a disgustingly ruthless, cold, heartless monster completely willing to kill people. peter wasnt much better, mind you.
