The spirit speaks for it's self in the Upper Room #XIV

A Divine Spark
Read Romans 12:4-8
Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
-1 Corinthians 12:4 (KJV)
WE may readily recognize inspiration in the work of artists, but we usually stop short of seeing the same inspiration in simple acts of kindness. I had the privilege of seeing my sister-in-law act as a conduit between my father's need and God's mercy. My father was admitted to a nursing home for care after suffering a stroke. Limited to using his right side, my father requires assistance with his basic needs.
One night my sister-in-law breezed into the room cheerfully. She immediately set about anticipating and responding to my father's needs. It is not always easy to get past his veneer of gruffness, but she has found a way. In the time it took me to juggle a toothbrush and water cup, she had wrestled a partially paralyzed man out of his soiled shirt and into a fresh one, finishing by folding his blanket back accordion style just the way he likes it.
I had heard what a great blessing my sister-in-law had been in caring for my father, but witnessing it firsthand opened my eyes to her deeply compassionate heart. We are all given a spark of the Holy Spirit that ignites when we engage in a work where our passion lies.
