Yay, Car Thieves. LOL.

Well, my truck was broken into. AGAIN. That makes twice this month, both times getting away with nothing of any value. This time, they tried to get away with the stereo, but failed miserably. That thing is wedged in there so tight, there's almost no way to get it out without professional de-installation. However, they DID destroy the stereo in the attempt.
It's hot here. Meltingly hot. I hate not having AC. >.< I thought Mississippi was hot. I thought Kansas was hot. But no, 110 degrees with an air-conditioned house is ten times more tolerable than 80 degrees with no AC... Been trying to catch up with my last few commissions from AC and do all the art on my Workload, but I just shut down in the mid-afternoon, because I'm too hot to think or move. *pant* I should have new art here soon.
Speaking of art, DAYUM. FurBuy ( http://www.furbuy.com ) has exploded! There's almost 100 auctions on there, and a lot of them are really good stuff! I posted some of my leftovers from AC up there, including a couple shirts and some magnets for less than list price on my CafePress store.

they would have taken the whole truck so they could work on it at their own pace nice and safe and then part out the engine and any good body panels and Ebay 'em off for a profit.
Little known fact about car theiving... most cars are worth more dismantled than in one piece. Take it from me... the big evil ogre... where there's a winch, there's a way.

luckely, i have a new car with security systems and the keys are chip coded so if someone trys to steal it without the key, it kills the engine completely. YAY for security systems. XD
you could probably get one installed for a few hundred that should work though, y'know, if you think it's worth getting an alarm system installed that is.^^

Heheh you should put a bear trap in your car at night. Be one of the few cases that sort of thing could actually go off and I wouldn’t feel sorry for what’s in it.
And the heat will, i hope, taper off soon, i bet. Swimming sounds good, as well as canoeing...
I sure hope those cartheives give up. Geez, two times in a month? o_o;

You'd look like a complete and total hick, but who care anymore, right?
Almost makes me glad I still drive a hunk-o-junk... nobody in their right mind would try breaking into it.
You need to get out of there or else do something to deter them like Club your steering whel or something: at the very worst, they might steal the vehicle altogether to commit some other crime. you don't want 'drive-by' or 'robbery' on your vehicle's history report.
Unfortunately it's one of those things you can expect to never have any resolution from, claiming it on your insurance will simply make your rates go up, and your deductable is probably more than the stereo costs, and the police basically told me both times "Sorry, you're screwed and we'll never catch the guy or get your property back."
The only things I can suggest is take *everything* of value out of the car, don't bother hiding stuff under seats, it's the first place they look for valuables. If your car has a detachable faceplate, detach it and take it with you (They broke into my glove box both times as well.) Always leave your windows rolled up all the way, and your doors locked, it's a deterrant if nothing else.
Since moving I'm just waiting for my car to get vandalized, it's a big problem down here in the bay.
