Yes, this is one of those 'omgijustrealisedhowthemediahasmaniplatedwomen!' moments...

I found a magazine on a counter in my kitchen (it was Maclean's or something like that I think) and decided to read it since the front said 'Outraged moms, trashy daughters'. So I skimmed through it until I found the pages about what had previously drawn my attention. 3 pages about how sexualised media directed toward women and girls is now. I was already aware of how more and more girls were dressing sluttier and thinking sex and the like are what makes them populare, blah blah blah you know about that crap, too; but what really bothered me was realising how, despite every thing we've gone through, the female gender is slowly falling back into the controle of men! I know not all guys are horny jackasses, but I mean come on, do most girls want to fit in so badly that they think being a sex object is a way of being powerful?! Thank god for shows like CSI and Coldcase, where the female characters are strong and powerful with out all this sex-based crap, otherwise I don't know what'd I do with myself. Why can't women just feel good about being themselves; smart, pretty, and able to controle their lives with out a man to say what they can and can't do?! It makes me angery. I hate today's media. >:(
