1. To be annoying –or– To be boring
To be annoying. People will put up with you more if you're boring.
2. To not have an opinion at all –or– to have an opinion for no reason
To not have an opinion at all, people take you for a submissive fool and will walk all over youl if you don't express an opinion about anything.
3. To not do anything with your life –or– To do something with your life, based on a false belief
To not do anything with your life, wasted potential is not conducive to having a good relationship with yourself.
4. To try, and fail horribly –or– to not try at all
To not try at all, because you will never know if you would have succeeded if you never try. You should never be afraid to fail, failure is the only way you learn to pick yourself up and try again.
5. To want, very badly, something impossible to get –or– To want nothing at all.
To want, very badly, something impossible to get. It's always good to have standards, but you have to be realistic about things and learn what you do and don't need in life. You will find that things you desire will fall into your lap when you quit dwelling on it.
6. To be smart and look like an idiot –or– to actually be an idiot but look smart
To actually be an idiot but look smart. You will be let down by people like this. Having low expectations of people will make you actually realize you will be pleasantly surprised when someone exceeds them.
7. To have constructive criticism in all things (even playing) –or– to never have constructive criticism
To never have constructive criticism. You will never succeed in the world if you can't handle criticism of any form. Granted you shouldn't have to deal with outright criticism from people who should care about you and love you, but constructive criticism is critical for raising a kid.
8. To find someone stole your artwork (as in claimed an image is theirs) and everyone believes them –or– to find someone destroyed your (physical) artwork.
To find someone stole my artwork, and everyone believes them. That's why copyrights are so awesome.
9. To tell someone off and find you misunderstood the situation –or– To let someone go that actually needs told off
To tell someone off and find I misunderstood the situation. I feel horrible when I unload on someone out of context. Apologies are in order for that kind of thing.
10. Frequently, to think you are wrong when you are actually right –or– Frequently, to think you are right, but actually you are wrong
This is a toss up, because on one hand, being wrong and thinking you're right is thick-headed and close minded, but on the other hand, being right and thinking that you're wrong is a lack of self confidence. You have to be able to accept when you are actually wrong. It's ok, it happens.
11. To be without Friends –or– To be without Power
To be without friends, although some days I wish I weren't friends with the people I am, but you can change who you're friends with. And everyone needs at least one friend they can go to when they feel lost.
12. To believe painful truths -or- to believe blissful lies
To believe blissful lies. You're a dipshit if you can't accept truths. The impossible can and does happen, you have to be prepared for it.
13. To be emotionally strong (like, resilient to bad things happening), but jaded -or- to be emotionally weak (like, you fall-to-pieces when bad things happen), but still be excited about many things.
To be emotionally weak, and excited about many things. I really hate happy go lucky people that haven't a clue. It's alright to be optimistic and have goals and dreams. But you have to accept the truth that maybe you won't succeed at that or something may happen to hinder your plans. Life tends to take turns for the worse at any given moment, and optimism helps you get through them, but you have to be able to improvise and take it like an adult.
