Bioshock is dead...
To anyone who ever played the games bioshock and bioshock 2, I am sad to announce the next installment of the series to be somthing called bioshock infanite, it takes place in 1912 and there is no rapture, and it seems as though the game has moved into less of a si-fi feel into more of a fantasy feel. Bioshock infanite takes place in a floating city in the sky called Columbia. Where as the last game was about progress and not having to follow the rules of a strict government, and not having to worry about religion and morality, it is now about the nation of the USA, and about the christian religion. Bioshock has lost it's watery dark industrial theme, and gained instead a lighthearted old london theme. Elements of the game suggest rapture never happened or will happen, that it was merely somones fairy tale. This is suggested by the fact that there are a few things that seem to be modles of some of the things in rapture nonworking modles just for show. I think this change in pace is due to the fact that the rights to Bioshock has switched hands from 2K to Irrational games. Anyway some of you may enjoy this game but in my own opinian the franchise has been destroyed..... if you want to see the trailer it's right here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7kBfM8m72g4

Finally, they can't harp on the same things of morals and a repressive government or it would be a case of "Yes, we get it. Move on!". I may not have done much looking into the game, and it doesnt't help that not much about it is being released, but how do you know it's about the christian relgion anyway? If we're just going off the trailer then there's nothing about religion in it.
I think you're over reacting to this all. The franchise is not "destroyed", it's merely moving on and telling a new story. It's progressing. It may even be taking risks, not quite on the level of from SystemShock 2 to Bioshock, but still some slight risk.
I commend the creaters of Infinite, and speaking of which, both 2K and Irrational are working on this title, like they did with Bioshock 1 and 2. Even if it was just Irrational, what would it matter? They've proved they make excellent games, just look at their released games and tell me there's one that isn't at least good?
Everything aside, ya being a complete fanboy and need to calm down.
All in all I'm just sad a company other than the original have named somthing that has nothing to do with bioshock, bioshock... and lastly I think you missinterperate my tone i was calm to begin with, but do I not have the right to express my views, in a rant, in my own journal?
