Delay in posting of photographs
My apologies for the delay, but I've had to slow the posting of my Samantha photos. One reason is just that I've been very busy. But another big reason is that FA has announced an AUP policy change to the effect that we are only allowed to post no more than 10 photographs of a particular fursuit. The intent is to inhibit mindless dumping of hundreds of artless low-grade fursuit photos.
Upon closer examination, the rule has complications and exceptions:
1. In some cases, pre-existing older photos can be grandfathered in if they are moved to scraps. (I have done this for my older Samantha pics)
2. The rule does allow exceptions for unique combinations of fursuit subjects - if I include fursuit A and B in a picture, it starts a new category and doesn't add to the count of pictures of fursuit A all alone.
Based on this complexity - I am under the impression that this rule structure is still evolving. I will probably move slowly over the next few months and see where this trend goes. I may also post some new pictures directly to scraps.

One point I think is relevant: what does the rule have to say about costumes? Because of course, everyone's favourite sexy skunk has quite a diverse wardrobe and seems to enjoy playing dress-up.
That's the part of the rule system that is not yet mature. I don't have time to fight that fight. I've been a moderator myself and I know that rules get created in absolute terms - otherwise subjective value judgements can go quite astray. And once you are identified as being on the wrong side of the rules, overreactions can occur.
I expect that either the rules will be refined or fursuit art photos will move to another system. I'll just wait and see how it shakes out.
Maybe giving her 'her own profile'.
BTW - I already have an account over there for rcking.

But there is almost nothing there.
I don't know the technical reasons - maybe they don't want search to turn up countless photos of the the same fursuit? *shrug* They have expressed that they don't want people using FA as another Photobucket. Like I said, I'm waiting to see how this evolves.
Hooray, there's going to be more Samantha. *gets out a safari camera and tries filming her in her natural habitat*
I'm not going to upload my entire collection, I just wanted to post random pics here and there of my suiting adventures through life on here. Kind of use it like a scrap book of my best moments instead of a large collection of every moment.
(I can understand what they're trying to do, and I can see how it's very difficult to formulate such a rule without requiring judgement calls about the quality of submissions by moderators that will, by their nature, be very subjective, but still... you'd think there'd be a better solution.)
I like that opening line
Personally, I'm hoping that they decide to make a permanent exception for scraps - that way I can just keep moving old pics to scraps.
The real value of FA is the existing community and the submission comment system.
If I move my old stuff over to DA, I loose the comments.
Oh well - backup and screencap I guess.
