Separation between [blank] and state
Why is it that we have the separation between church and state? To prevent religious people from using the power of law to give their group legal, forceful power over other people.
The same principle applies to separating state and economy. The proper function of the government is to prevent people from violating each other. When you allow any group of people the kind of together-ness with the state that you'd never allow a church to have, the result is nearly the same as what a church would do. You get laws where one group of people is given power over, or benefits at the cost of, another group of people.
The only way for the government to protect our rights is to bar ANY type of togetherness between any group of people and the state. Church, business, the poor, any group of people. There must be a complete separation. Laissez-Faire Capitalism.

Interesting point, and good comparison. Unfortunately so many people still think that the state and religion, or the state and economy, could be linked successfully. Time will prove them wrong, but at what cost. Good journal, concise, to the point.
