Saturday night was quite possibly one of the most magical nights of my life, and I don't say that lightly. The boy and I got our hands on some delicious Moroccan hash, and tickets to Cirque du Soleil's Alegria. And ohhh, the show that proceeded thereafter! I've never seen such things; my mind was blown and by the end of the show my hands were stinging from vigorous, well-deserved applause and I had tears in my eyes!
Now, I've rented just about every DVD of Cirque performances and watched them at least a dozen times. I am the proverbial kid that wanted to run away and join the circus (but was too scared to do so!..and there's no good circuses in Alberta), and have been fascinated by them for years upon years. So the fact that my love made a point of remembering this, and picking up tickets as a surprise for me was, well...another reason I'm willing to swallow my pride and learn to grow with this man. :)
Chicken ladies! Girlfriend-stealing ringmasters! Contortionists (<3!)! Clowns with goggles! Trapeze artists (8 man troupe!)! People swinging through the air and doing things that almost made me poop!
All I can say is....BRAVA! ENCORE!

I'm happy to say I'm currently finishing up your half of the trade (finally...did some resketching and inking and came up with something I like). Now, if I can get in touch with Miss Kappy, then I can purloin her scanner for an evening! <:
