My fight in the Upper Room goes to round 3! #XXIX

But nothing will stop me...
I got my Rev collar yesterday, Sarah was pissed because how muched it cost, and mom was pissed because she thought it was going to be just a regular reverend's collar.
Sarah, said "I'm pissed because of the money, but at least your following your calling."
And Mom and me got into a normal fight about it. She doesn't like the fandom...her and dad went with me to FCN '09 to see what I was into...but I finally told her about changing the image toward the art aspect of it then the fetish.
She agreed with that.
Another victory.Yay!

What We Least Expect
Read Acts 3:1-10
Peter said [to the man], "I have no silver or gold, but what I have I give you; in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, stand up and walk."
-Acts 3:6 (NRSV)
WHEN my children were young and wanted a toy, I often heard, "But Mom, I need it!" As children of our heavenly Father, we are no different. Sometimes what we perceive as our greatest need is not at all what we need.
In today's reading from Acts chapter three, the beggar who was laid at the temple gate thought his greatest need was money. He had been crippled since birth and had no way to earn income for life's necessities. Consequently, he had begged for money.
Had Peter and John given the man money, his immediate need would have been met, but his life would not have changed. The next day he would have been back at the gate again, begging. Instead, Peter looked at the man's greater need -- his need for physical and spiritual healing. The beggar left the gate that day a changed man, praising God. He could walk! He received not what he asked for but what he needed.
Our wise God often goes beyond what we ask, too. Many years ago, I prayed for God to move my husband to a particular job. It didn't happen. In the time since, that organization has endured years of staff loss and upheaval. God, in mercy, sent us to a different place, to a job that has been stable for 13 years.

Prayer
Dear Father, thank you for meeting our deep needs, even when what comes to us is not what we expected. Amen.
Thought for the Day
God can work through us to meet the deepest needs of those near us.
Prayer Focus
To trust God for what I truly need

I truly agree with todays prayer, thought for the day, and prayer focus.
And my parents are very supportive. But hopefully we can change the view, or at the least separate us from the porn.
I was one who was seduced by the porn at first, but after I removed the sin of lust from myself it just seemed pointless...it's just controversial art to me now...unless it's badly drawn.
