F-List is... interesting. I initially used it as a replacement for the Rabbit Hole system due to the larger range of fetishes 'n custom tags and such, but I quickly found it's more like an RP matchmaking system what with all the notes 'n such. Blah.

I know what you mean all too well. Can't count the number of people who ended up doing things in an RP without even checking if I was into it or not.

You know that I'm around if you ever need an RP partner, just throwing an offer out.

God yes I heart this journal. I used to go onto pounced and save all the hilarious profiles. One was like, some 50-60 year old dude who allegedly collected "pups", ie teenage furs and have them live with him in some sort of wierd ass harem. Good times.

I told you about the guy whose profile was like, 3 sentences, and two of them were about his big dick, with the last sentence ending with 'and also his sheath has tentacles.'

Oh god yeah, I saw that myself when i was perusing. I actually showed that to my friends in Cambridge yesterday. they laughed.

Yikes, that sucks. You'd think people who wanted an RP would actually take the effort to figure out if they and their partner matched.

In a forum post on F-list, in the vore section, I had posted a little blurb that said 'no super-prey, I'm really only interested in those who will at least switch.' And someone actually posted begging me to reconsider. How damn desperate do you have to be? Geez.

There must be a switch in their heads that flips off the reasoning, sensible portion of the brain when they see something they want. When I see a sexy mare who has 'lesbian' in their flags, I'm not going to approach them, because I am a male. What's easy for me is just terribly hard for others, it seems.

Oh, and I encourage you to play with the weird pain/dom people, and do nothing but hit them in the face with a Nerf bat until they disconnect on you. (And if they come back for more, promise not to do the bat thing again...but do it again. :KD )

That's the point ;) Nothing's more frustrating then a victim who dosen't get hurt or counters in an unrealistic fashion, just continually refusing to aknowlage in any way the fact that they've done some horrific thing to your character will take a lot of the wind out of their sails.

After poking at it a bit I get the sense that entering 'no' for ageplay or whatever else tends to make you a target for simply having something entered in the ageplay bracket, in this case not addressing something may be a better way of saying no then saying it outright.

As to the RPing experience thing... it's a misnomer if there ever was one, I first met you well under the 8 month mark, and likly under the 6 month mark and I don't think I was bad and certainly I think better then those who've been around longer what this often seeks to represent is the quality of RP you can, and will, put out under normal circumstances. This can only really be measured in RPing with someone and is the product of how well read the person is, their intellect, their grasp of the language and their experience both directly with RP and with that character in RP.

Oh, I don't have any problem RPing with someone who hasn't been doing it long. Everyone has to start somewhere. You however, used proper spelling and grammar because you realized that to roleplay in a textual medium you need to know and use the fricking language in question.

The dude in question didn't bother with all that fancy capitalization and punctuation, and honestly typed like I imagine a crack baby would after 11 stunted years of growth.

Yeah, depressingly few people seem to bother trying any more, which might be a problem with the medium, it's all so easy to get online and onto the web-based chats or messanger that they expect similar levels of effort to be fine for RP itself.

F-list is sorta hit'n miss. I'll go in once or twice a month to browse around new threads or new characters for potential partners. I'm typically pretty picky on who I bother to contact, seeing what effort they've put in to their profiles and whatnot. I've gotten a few good partners out of there, but gotten plenty of ignored PMs as well. =P

Finding good RP partners does sometimes seem like an exercise in futility, I'll give you that. Then again, if you don't go out and look and brave the idiots, you'll never find the gems. I've had all sorts of weird people beg me for RPs, despite repeated "No's"... but I keep going back to those sites (Eka's, in this case), because occasionally you do find really good RPers and it's amazing.

I just tried going back onto F-List recently, but the website insists that I hate vore. And if I don't, then I love unwilling vore. o.O

Still, my best memory ever of "Failure" in terms of a potential RP partner is as followed.

"Wanna do an RP where you are a female centaur teacher who punishes naughty children in class, then eats them?"

Me: "...I'm a gay, male, prey skunk character."

"Yeah, and?"

Also should have mentioned, this was the first (and only) time this person contacted me!

Yeah, isn't it great when people do that? 'I'm gonna totally ignore your character and instead suggest you play an entirely different creature with a different personality and different preferences.' And they think this reasonable! Or people who want you to play multiple characters to cater to their one character. Mmmhmm.

I've been on F-list for 10 months, and so far I've only been approached by two people: One of which I still RP with. I just joined it as a way to have a nice neat Character sheet for at least 4 of my main RP characters (Well, 5 actually...Lohfrum and his living cock count as two...:p http://www.f-list.net/c/Lohfrum%20And%20Sorbeo/ )

Luckily I haven't had any.....unsavory experiences there yet, which is surprising to me since my NO column is rather large...like....6 times the size of my faves column, you have to scroll the screen twice lol.

Some people might just glance at the size of your no column and just move on. While others will glance at a huge 'fave' column and also move on, figuring you either too desperate, or too varied in your kinks to suit their needs.

Yeah. I guess a LOT of people are into domination and such, I just can't STAND dom/sub situations or such situations where one person's will is forced over anothers. Over 3/4ths of my NO column is anything degrading or painfull to the other person.

Might just be simpler to put that kind of thing in your description. NO PAIN, and total equality between partners.

That's a great Idea, I only put a character description.
