Project: Aries... I mean FurWorlds
Last time I posted something about Aries was over like what a year ago? Well a lot has changed since then and for now on I'll try to post a weekly journal about it and entitle it FurWorlds, which is our new name for it. The grid has been up and online for special residents for over a year now, we have learned and accomplished so much thanks to generous donations and the OpenSimulator community itself. We currently have 3 servers online hosting around 11 sims. Doesn't sound like a lot, but when you think about it the whole project is free and open source, so we've accomplished a lot for a fox and a folf. Earlyer this year we had a pro server we were hosting on, which was amazing as we had voice, search, and other features that you find on SL online and working properly. However the organization which was allowing us to be on said pro server couldn't afford it anymore and thus we lost it and are back to our improvised servers. They are great mechines, but a lot more could be done. I am trying to peice together another server to hopefully hold a few more regions, and we have another server that will hopefully soon be sent to us. If you are a resident of Second Life (this is to keep track of people more easily) and would like to be apart of the project by donating a computer, or hosting regions yourself, contact me on SL, Fox Irwin or try contacting Gravity Wright about it. Or visit our website http://www.furworlds.com I will be posting another journal about specs for hosting a server or specs for donating machines in another journal to keep this one short. Err.... shorter. So until next... lets go Monday I'll see you all then.
