So have any of you all ever been to Ireland? I am really contemplating going this summer, but since I've never been out of the country before in my life (other than Canada), I don't really know what to expect. Do the Irish *really* hate Americans?

The Irish don't hate Americans. That's a stereotype. One of my novel characters is Irish, so I've done a lot of reading on it. Some Irish hate Americans. Just like some Americans hate the Irish, or Italians or Mexicans or whatever. Some Irish love Americans. It just depends on the individual. But trust me, they aren't the richest country in the world and they need all the tourism they can get. LOL We'll just have to avoid northern Ireland. XD
