The Drawing Adventure of Æpokh
I enrolled in a painting class for my final year at high school. I'd rather be taking a drawing class instead, but I'm taking Calculus III at the city University in the mornings, and that takes up the first two class periods of my day (the only time when drawing class is offered). Whatever, I guess painting is alright. If I really get into it you may see some paintings in my gallery much, much later but I make no promises.
Due to the lack of a drawing class, I had to buy a sketchbook from Wal-Mart. It's actually pretty nice for where I got it; the paper's pretty heavy and so far not a lot of smearing has occurred between pages. But I'm no artist (yet!) so who am I to determine the quality of any sketchbook?
I've made a few drawings in it so far (all of them lynx, man I really need another subject to practice on) and with the guidance of some friends who are already good at drawing, vast improvement is already apparent.
One of my friends spotted me drawing, and assumed I had been drawing for a long time and had just never shown him; he recommended I add a major in graphic design at college based on the drawing he saw me completing :] I'm already going to double-major in electrical engineering and music, but drawing is really fun and I like it a lot... I wonder how difficult a triple-major would be.
I asked one of my artist friends about the possibility of adding a major in graphic design and among the comments that followed were "I know talent when I see it". Made my day.
Ultimately, things are looking up in the way of my having nice drawings for you all. Not necessarily soon, but soon enough, I think.
