What are lumos?
Lumos are genetically altered animals of any species. They were created in a lab from basic animals as a result of gene testing. The testing that was done to create lumos had to do with bioluminescence hence their glowing features.
What makes them different than any other “Rave” creature?
Lumos can only be created in a lab. They don’t glow for the heck of it and they can control their glowing. Think of a lightning bug’s rear end, their markings and internal organs are the same. In fact it was lightning bug genes that they were injected with. Sure many lumos end up being ravers they weren’t made especially for that purpose.
Why such specific markings?
Their markings only appear in places where they were injected or had lab equipment. The very first lumos known as Remix has markings on her muzzle where her jaw was wired shut because of her vicious nature. The markings on her back near her spine is where the genes were injected into her spine. The ones on her hind feet are because of the shackles that were placed on her in her anthro form. The markings that run from her cheeks to her groin are because of the genes flowing through her body.
How did they become anthro?
While in the lab the animals learned how to speak and walk on two legs like their captors. This was possible because of the gene testing. It is still unknown what all was injected into their systems.
Can lumos have children?
Its very rare for a lumos to bear children. Due to the testing most of them became sterile. In the event that a lumos does have a child, the child will carry the same markings as the lumos even if the other parent is not a lumos.
