For those who dont live here!

I live in a place that doesn't have natural disasters. Sometimes hurricanes breeze up, but they blow into tropical storms that just wind and rain on us a bit. We had a hurricane warning a couple weeks ago and that weekend being perfectly happy and sunny. We don't take this shit seriously.

Yesterday, Igor hit. And it actually stayed a class 1 hurricane when it reached us.

On the burin peninsula, shit is wrecked. All the little towns are disconnected due to roads and bridges dying (thats where those major shots are from). Yesterday like 20 towns were in a state of emergency. Power was out here EVERYWHERE due to trees blowing down on power lines. I worked in the dark running a store with a flashlight, spare till and calculator. It's nuts.

(my boy/self/friends/house/car/possessions are all perfectly fine, no worries! I'm just amazed at the damage!)
