Plumbing Mishap....and Vicadin

So my parents are definitely getting the divorce. The paperwork is all in motion and in a few months (around Christmas), they'll be legally no longer a couple. So the house is going to be sold after the divorce. My mom and myself will find a small apartment, my sister will be up at college, and my Dad...well...I'm not sure what he's doing. Nor do I really care.
So I have some projects to do around here to better sell the house. One of these involved priming and painting our laundry room. Our house was built sometime in the 1970's and this room shows it: there's big cracks in the cement wall, the pipes are old and jet out everywhere, and there's hardly any space to maneuver around it with a paintbrush. I had to lean against one of the pipes to get into a corner, when I heard the pipe leak. I looked down in time for the entire pipe to separate and tons of water come shooting out everywhere. I suppose I ought to be happy it wasn't hot water or raw sewage, but I was so surprised, I fell over and spilled the primer. I struggled to push the pipes back together, but even after turning off the water at the socket, I couldn't get them back together. I eventually had to put down some towels and call my Dad to fix it.
The next day, I had my wisdom teeth removed. >_< I was pretty terrified of the operation, since I'd never been put under before, but all I really remember is my Dad helping me shuffle back to the car. I woke up in bed five hours later in extreme pain with gauze in my mouth and dried blood around my lips. I've spent the last few days with a cold pack on my mouth, drinking water and room temperature, soup, and ice cream. I'm not even allowed to use a straw. I'm pretty sure, they damaged a nerve because three days later, half my jaw is still numb. I got a Motrin and a Vicadin prescription, but I don't see why people would sell Vicadin on the street. It helps with the pain, but I never experienced the "loopiness" you're supposed to feel.
Just earlier today, my sister came home from college for the afternoon and got a piercing and convinced my mom to do the same, which I have to admit was fun to watch. We said our goodbyes, but she only made it a few miles before her little Ford Focus sputtered out and died on the highway. My Mom and I drove up in the SUV and when we couldn't figure it out, we swapped cars so she could get back to school. We reluctantly called Dad again and sat on the highway for over an hour waiting for him. He's living with a friend out in the boonies and it's a 45 minute drive. He couldn't fix it on the side of the road so we had to tow it home. My mom was in his pick-up truck towing it along while he sat in the Focus and steered. During the drive home, a part ripped off (the corset, I think?) and he yelled at my Mom about it. All she could say was that she went slow, followed his directions, and did the best he could, but he didn't want to hear it.
Everyday he's over here, the mood it like that.
Some good news: I'll be showing - maybe even selling - some photos this January at a library. It's all on my Deviant Art account, if you care to see. http://artizek.deviantart.com
I'm also real disappointed in my last journal. I asked whether my avatar was "so good" or "no good" and I don't think anyone got the reference! http://www.homestarrunner.com/tgs3.html
