News Just In: Account Maintainer Not Dead!
Unfortunately I've been a little bit slack when it comes to keeping this up to date. I blame my working hours (try waking up for work at 1 in the morning and see how much you feel like doing stuff...). Thank you railways!
Food for thought - and a rather obvious question - why do you license things under a Creative Commons license?
My own reasoning is that I don't see the point in restricting the use of my works in ways I'd never use them myself. If somebody else can build on what I've done, quite frankly I'm chuffed. Also, this being the internet, I expect things to be copied. If the use isn't going to affect me, I see no point in disallowing it and then throwing a hissy fit...

FA+

I post my artwork CC because I want to share it. I would rather give my permission openly for other people to play with my art and let them get some enjoyment from it rather than feeling like they have to sneak around guiltily. I get a lot of joy from drawing. I like that other people can share that too. I know my work gets reposted without credit. My friends are in the habit of showing me when it pops up on other sites. I've never seen a point in making a big deal over it. Usually, reposts of my work from from my FA gallery, which means my username is part of the file name, so it's still generally identifiable that way. If anything, it serves as free advertisement for me. Since I don't distribute print-quality files, it's not like the resolution is good enough for anyone to make physical copies worth selling. It's just not worth getting worked up about. There's no way to control something once it's posted online. Why stress yourself out from trying?
