Only really happens if I've done some dodgy overclocking. If you've set your PC to not restart when there is a BSOD then take note of the 'STOP' code and any file names that are given. This usually sheds light on what the issue is.
when I had windows, I used to, now I have linux and I havent seen those damn blue screen of death x3, I still have windows but only for games, such as age of empires blah, blah, blah, but now that I remember, I had a fatal BSOD and I was only watching youtube!!! X3 cant believe it, silly window$ ^^
It happened to me once during a programming mid-term. I saved frequently, but I learned too late that the department's computers wiped the desktop on every login, which is where my project was saved. That was a fun time. ;)
in all this years of working IT and on my own working with my own pc, i can say that ive only experienced at most a dozen blue screens, when ever my computer crashes, it does by freezing and not working until restart, hence loosing my work, but i hardly get to watch the terrible blue screen of death.
