AC update super late

I have decided to start using this journal more, so here goes nothing. my AC update from earlier in July...
So I attended my first Anthrocon and lived through it. I had been prepared by my friends and by David, but I had no real idea of how many people I would see, how much crush and bustle and crazy there would be. The convention center was huge and it took miles to get from the hotel to the convention space. There were many cool people there and I got to see old friends Anmber and Nate, new friends such as Modem, Aubrin and Anima and of course hang with the at home crowd, Gideon, Roxicat and Astor. Over the weekend I procured a whole lot of gorgeous art, which I will be scanning in and posting eventually.
I had huge wads of fun and felt much more at home surrounded by furries. Now I am tired and feel kind of sad and nostalgic – a 5-day endorphin rush produces quite a crash when it’s over. So AC highlights…
I met tons of cool people, most of whom I neglected to get contact info for, but I would like to mention that at one point I was standing with Hindi, Tigra and Eryth and I realized that we had all slept with the same man.. In another life that would be very awkward, but in mine it was just a chance to laugh and begin plotting a conspiracy to take over the world.
I got dressed up for the dance and ran all over the place in a corset and a party dress and gained my own fanboys. The joy of being unknown made me realize that I want to get into suiting simply so that I could put on a costume and be someone else. I have always enjoyed costuming and playing pretend. I love having an outlet for it.
Dorian. Well, I didn’t expect to spend half my con bonding and getting to know someone in quiet and relative solitude, but I can’t deny it was loads of fun, drama and tequila. That was my answer to every question on Saturday night. (Ooh that gets to be it’s own highlight)
‘How are you doing Leandra?’
‘Hic… Tequila!’
‘Are you having a good con Leandra?’
‘Hic…TEQUILA!”
I watched roxicat and several others whose names I don’t know almost get decapitated by the escalator. By the end of the weekend the low hanging ceiling that was the culprit had a huge scuff mark form all the people narrowly escaping bodily harm.
This was the con where I could not find a party to save my life. We ended up standing forlornly on the 15th floor at one point with Dizzy and Lex and Modem as the 3rd room party of the night wrapped up early. I think we took over some poor unsuspecting guy’s room and made our own.
Well, that’s AC in a nutshell folks: huge, loud, long, full of pretty and mad good times. Gods I’m tired.
