Just got a CD today called "Jerry Goldsmith: Rare Music"
It's a compilation of unused music cues from various movies over the decades he composed scores for them. Most impressive are the unused original score tracks for StAr Trek: The Motion Picture. Absolutely gorgeous music, but the directors didn't feel it fit the theme of the film, so it was all re-scored. This is a collection of just such music. If you can find it, I reccomend getting it.

Will definitely looking for it - I'm interested to see what the directors thought isn't good enough.

He did the original score, but it was replaced by Tangerine Dream when it was released in theaters.
