Had another damn dream about wolves...
Yep, an extremely vivid lucid dream too. I touched on it a bit on twitter but I figured I'd elaborate a bit here for those who aren't on twitter or just didn't see the tweet.
Like most of my past lucid dreams, it involved wolves. Quite a simple one actually. I was in a wolf sanctuary, wandering about when I came across one wolf that just seemed to call out to me. The rest of the dream just entailed me sitting there with the wolf. It was weird, it's hard to describe the...connection, for lack of better words, I felt with this animal. I was content to just sit there and look into his eyes. I felt completely at peace.
I'm sure I'll be pondering the meaning of this one for awhile, even though the obvious answer is that it's just another attempt by my sub-conscious to tell me that my fursonas species should be a wolf or something to that effect. :P
In response to this I'll pose the question that I also asked my twitter followers: Have any of you ever thought about changing your fursonas species but are reluctant because you've grown too attached to the current one?
Before anyone asks 'cause I already mentioned it elsewhere, I don't do alts. There is only one me, I dislike the idea of splitting myself between multiple characters. Ya know? :3

FA+

The species Canis Lupus actually descended from the species Canis Latrans.
That's right: Coyotes were the mothers to the wolf!!
So, there's some information to take into account when dwelling on this thought.
For all we know, it could be a confirmation of your fursona versus a sign to change it. ^^
I think the reason some people have alts is what you described. They're too attached to their character to up and abandon it for something new, yet feel it is missing a part of them that another species would fill. So they go and doodle out something just so they can reflect that portion of themselves out. Pretty much even though I have alts, I'm almost always my fox and will be at all times as he's my favorite and first. ^.^
It also doesn't help that I can sometimes be very codependent and prefer to be told what to do rather than decide for myself.
